Reissues of two Wings albums, Venus and Mars and At The Speed of Sound , were released last week. Both albums are available in a variety of physical and digital formats. Starting with a 2-disc (2 CD) Standard Edition, the first CD features the original remastered album and the second CD includes bonus audio made up of material including demos and unreleased tracks.
The 3-disc (2CD, 1DVD) Deluxe Edition is housed in a hardback book featuring unpublished photographs, new interviews with Paul, material from Paul’s archives and expanded track-by-track information. The deluxe version bonus DVD is comprised of filmed material from around the time of each release, some of which has never been seen before.
As with all the Archive Collection, Paul McCartney has personally supervised all aspects of the reissues.  The remastering work was done at Abbey Road by the same team who have worked on all the reissues as well as the Beatles’ catalogue.

I wasn't born there, nor was I raised there, but I would say that I definitely "grew up" in Indiana, where I spent four glorious years in college plus an extra 13 years after graduation. It holds the golden glow of nostalgia for me, despite the fact that my last visit was over five years ago. So many times I hear the oft used phrase, "You can never go home again," and yet with each return journey to Indiana, I feel that it is the exception to the rule.
A family reunion near Indianapolis was the reason for this trip, and also gave me a good excuse to stay at one of my very favorite hotels: The Canterbury. I first discovered it back in the 90's, thanks to the recommendation travel and leisure destinations of a good friend. travel and leisure destinations Ever since that first visit, it has always been my hotel of choice for Indianapolis. It began its life as The Lockerbie Hotel in 1928, and from 1936 through 1973, operated as The Hotel Warren. The first two illustrations here are from a vintage postcard.
I would classify it as an historic boutique hotel. Just large enough to have the amenities desired, but small enough that the staff recognizes you and can give the warm, friendly, and genuine customer service that keeps me coming back. From the doormen to the check-in staff to the concierge to the waitstaff, all are friendly and extremely accommodating.
Best of all, the Canterbury is a primo location. It contains travel and leisure destinations a private entrance to Circle Centre Mall and is only a few blocks from Monument Circle itself. Plenty of theaters, parks, and museums within walking distance as well. The Canterbury Hotel is definitely a Daveland favorite!
Dave, this looks like a great place. I remember in the sick 70 s, so many old places like this were either neglected, butchered or demolished. But now, the survivors have been cleaned travel and leisure destinations up and loved. I missed a chance to travel to Indianapolis and now regret it. I have to travel a bit for work and usually have to stay in corporate standard places like Westin or Hyatt due to reimbursement rules, but I always seek out historic places on my own dime. We have recently stayed at the Marriott Courtyards in Philadelphia and San Diego, both in renovated 1920 s office buildings, very cool places. Also the Grant Hotel in San Diego comes to mind, as well as Sir Francis Drake in SF. Planning a stay at the Phoenix Biltmore by Frank Lloyd Wright travel and leisure destinations soon.
