Travelling on a budget can be pretty tough – it's hard to get the balance right for many people. Many of us – when we're on a budget – either cancel our vacations or head somewhere much closer to home. This doesn't have to be the way though! There are loads of gorgeous locations that you can still visit on a budget – you just have to find the loop holes and listen to the right advice when getting there.
Dubai is known for being a luxurious city and people often assume that a city of such opulence and luxury will be way out of their budget. But the truth is – Dubai is very affordable and reasonable – especially when compared to cities such as London and New York.
Dubai has a great mix of budget beach hotels and city-centre hotels (all of the with swimming pools) and the average 3* hotel here is still great quality. absolutely lowest car rental rates With taxis being super cheap here – you can save money in other parts of your spending too. The attractions in Dubai are average priced – but there are plenty of free alternatives too which you can enjoy. The public beaches are free to enjoy, as is sightseeing and looking around the huge malls and the beautiful city . Another great tip when visiting Dubai is booking indirect flights – this could save you around £200.
Many of us think that heading as far away as Thailand will end up costing us an absolute fortune. The opposite is in fact true though – as the economy here is pretty good. If you can find an affordable flight (probably in-direct to keep it as cheap as possible) then the rest of your holiday will seem like pennies in comparison to European cities . Thailand hotels are often very cheap and you can rent beach huts for as little as £15 a night – bargain! You'll also find the cost of transport and food here is very cheap – there's nothing stopping you from splashing out of course – but there are ever so many cheap options out there if you need them.
Many people think New York is one of the most expensive cities to vacation in – but last year I had a 6 night break in NYC (with flights absolutely lowest car rental rates included) for under £550. My tips? Book early! Make sure you book your flight at least 5 months in advance as this is when prices are their cheapest. absolutely lowest car rental rates When it comes to accommodation – steer clear of anything in the city centre as it will drive you spending up hugely. I stayed in a loft apartment in Brooklyn which was 2 stops on the subway from central Manhattan. It was perfect because it meant we didn't have to spend money on taxis – and it meant we weren't paying the "Manhattan Premium".
When you're booking your tickets for the attraction – try and keep it free. Central park is free, the museums are free, and the Staten Island Ferry is free… there are loads of free options here that you can enjoy without spending a penny.
The important thing to remember is to keep things simple – and think about your options. Always looks for indirect flights and always check out less-central hotels . Very often – we rule out many fantastic destinations because we assume we could never afford them – but the truth is we can – we just need to plan ahead a bit and do a little research!
