The Ministry of Culture and Tourism's marketing comfort inn maingate west and promotional activities had a positive impact on the growth of travel and tourism in the country. Tourism was also an important driver of growth for the Turkish economy over the review period. It is also same positive performance in MICE tourism. First Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau organized strong marketing programme and promotes Istanbul and Turkey at previous years. Then Antalya CVB also started to promote Antalya in MICE industry. Both of them promote their MICE products to the industry on international MICE exhibitions all over the world. Beginning of this year Istanbul has been declared as 2012 European Capital of Sports at European Parliament. In 2012 UEFA Congress organized in Istanbul at end of March, comfort inn maingate west ABTA -UK Travel Agents Association- and Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) general assemblies will be in Antalya. These are the samples of why Turkey now one of the preferred country for international congresses and events.
