The third day of the cruise we were in Nassau and went to a little island called Blue Lagoon Island.
Jared and I had the amazing opportunity last week to go on a cruise to the Bahamas! We've been wanting to go on one for awhile and finally decided to just do it! We left for Miami after work on Thursday and flew overnight to get there. During our layover in Denver one of the airline employees bumped us up to first class which was a first for both of us and awesome! Our seats were 1a and 1b, haha. Having huge seats, warm nuts, chocolate chip cookies, and multiple beverages made taking a red eye flight a lot more enjoyable. :)
We got to Miami at 5:30am and weren't allowed to board until 11a. We didn't know what to do with our big suitcase and no car so we just took a cab to the port hoping we could sit in a waiting area there. We were wrong about that so we ended up sitting outside, in the humidity, for 5 hours. It was a long wait and we were even there before the previous cruise had de-boarded. Luckily the time finally came for us to get on board where we promptly fell asleep for a couple of hours until the muster bespoke travel to china drill and the cruise departed.
The second day of our cruise we were in CocoCay, the cruise's private island. It was the most beautiful water we'd ever seen and we loved every minute of it! It's so different than the Pacific Ocean in that it's much more suitable for relaxing. It feels like you're bespoke travel to china just swimming in a salt water pool. We floated bespoke travel to china around for probably 2 hours and then dried off a bit before going back to the ship.
This day was also Jared's 30th birthday and I had a few surprises for him. The first surprise was having our room decorated with Birthday decorations. I loved his reaction to the decorations! We had lunch at Johnny Rocket's on board the ship and then got ready for "formal night" dinner. My second surprise was supposed to be a birthday cake delivered at dinner but there was a mix-up and it didn't happen so I called to get our money back and they not only refunded the money but delivered the cake to our room! We got to watch the sunset from the ship and it was so beautiful over that gorgeous water.
The third day of the cruise we were in Nassau and went to a little island called Blue Lagoon Island. It was also very beautiful and we spent another couple of hours in the water before going back to the main island and doing a little shopping. When we got back to the ship we had chocolate covered strawberries, red velvet cupcakes, and wine in our room as another apology for forgetting the birthday cake! We ate every bit of those desserts (leaving the wine where we found it, ha) and loved it!
We got into Miami the next day and did a hop on/hop off tour of the city (we didn't hop off too much, ha). It was a cool city to see but super humid and hot. We were pretty much roasted by the time we got to the airport and happy to get home and sleep!
It looks like you guys had a great time! You guys should order a cake everytime just to see if they ll mix it up again so you get all the free stuff. How nice of them! We ve been to Nassau and loved it. So dang beautiful. Next time we both cruise, let do it together. :)
