4. Spending time with Auntie Ellen in her wee, freezing cottage in Donegal. She had no water or heat
1. Having vacation packages la jolla travel agency the nerve to tell Paddy Cullen (don't know if you know him, but he was the goalkeeper for Dublin and my Uncle Jim's nephew) that I couldn't dance with him when he asked me up for a set dance. But, my cousins told me that when a bloke asks you to dance you have to do a set dance (3 dances) or you would insult him. Well, what if I got sick and couldn't finish the dances?????? So, I had to say no. I committed vacation packages la jolla travel agency the biggest sin that night and my Uncle Jim would not talk to me forever. Met Paddy a while ago and we still laugh about that night.
2. A fella asked me if I wanted to go for a mineral (didn't know that was a soda) and I asked him, Why do you want to go rock hunting at 12:00 at night?? I was mortified....he told all his mates about this wacky Yank....Me....DUH Too bad...didn't score that night
4. Spending time with Auntie Ellen in her wee, freezing cottage in Donegal. She had no water or heat. We'd bathe in the freezing waters of the O'Donnell Lake behind her and use the facilities outside. We finally brought electricity down her way so she could have heat and tv.
6. And, my favorite memory of Donegal is staying at my relatives hotel Sweeney's Hotel in Dungloe. It was a party everynight with the Mary of Dungloe festival with all the bands at the local pubs, crossroads dances, and family chats with some great whiskey....lots of it
God, and sure wouldn't Donegal be one of about 3 counties I haven't been in at all, and I keep meaning to go up there, me friends have a house up north of the county and I know someone who works in Glenveigh National Park as well, well, you have definetly been in Ireland, thats for sure, they sound like genuine experiences to me! heheheheheh!
Eating crisps/chips and drinking lemonade at Billy Byrne's The Square Pub in Kilcock vacation packages la jolla travel agency (Cill Choice) as a child on many occasions and then going back there as an adult in 1978 to drink beer there (dear Billy Byrne himself had passed on by this time) and amazing the waitress at the pub when this erk with the Australian accent told her that as a kid he'd met the legendary Billy Byrne. And drinking far too much with my childhood hero from the area, Mick Bracken.
