Been catching up on some articles I have missed over the last week or two and came across the piece by Margaret Jeffares in the Irish Times who is the managing director of Good Food Ireland . The opinion article was in yesterday s paper and you can read more at the link above.
In the article she expresses her view that Ireland s tourism and hospitality sector needs to embrace the wealth of quality ingredients we produce on the Island and that we have and to use this to market discount car rentals Ireland as a premium food destination. We need to see the dining experience as not just feeding the customer but creating an unforgettable experience. Using locally sourced products and bringing back the Irish element is key to having a successful food destination. When reading discount car rentals this article I suppose my mind went back to what is happening in Donegal.
There is a slow but steady discount car rentals momentum happening where LOCAL is becoming the key word in differentiating the county from others. Some people who spring to mind are Zack Gallagher who runs the Irish Food Guide, Donal Doherty who is at the helms of Harry s Restaurant , Martin Anderson who is involved in the Artisan Food Market. .. actually the list goes on but all of them are playing their part in really promoting the use of products that are sourced as locally as possible discount car rentals and encouraging their customers, followers or fans to do so ..
One thing I think can be a barrier for a restaurant talking about using local, organic produce is the perception of PRICE ..certainly it is something I think about . I am definitely more Annie the pre Daddy Warbucks days . but I seen recently on Harry s Facebook page that you can have a Sunday Roast courtesy of the local farming and fishing community for €12 .. considering you would nearly have that paid at some take away for something less nutritious and definitely less tasty . at €12 did someone say Dinner s Ready!
I have shown this video before but I think it is definitely worth another view for those who follow my blog and for those who have never seen it enjoy that s if you can watch the whole lot of it without drooling over your keyboard
