What is the best company to rent from? Who has the best deals? Any coupons or codes you guys know of to share? For me, I think redeeming some airmiles for some gift cards is a good way to go. Cuts some, if not all of the cost. I know in the entertainment book there are some coupons, and I think some companies give discounts to CAA members.
It depends where they are needing a car. Also highly recommeded that you so to autopac to get the insurance for the rental when going to the states or Europe, The rental may not provide adequate or higher costs envolved. We rented a vechile ez car rental coupons in Europe only to find out that the drop off location no longer existed, luckily it was on credit card so that it was cancelled. ez car rental coupons If we used airmiles we probably would of lost it or had to deal with getting them back.
I have always used Enterprise. Good services and good prices. ez car rental coupons Usually I will call around (or shop online) to get a few "quotes". From there I see what Enterprise has. If they are higher, I ask if they can reduce their prices. Usually they can. If km's are charged for on top, I will also ask if they can include a set amount (after I calculate how many I need for my trip), cap the price or have unlimited. I have usually found that you can barter with the prices...especially if it is not a busy weekend!
ez car rental coupons My husband just rented through National. He had phoned around and ended up finding out that their weekend deal was the best. He asked for a midsize sedan but we are looking at buying an escape told them so when he went to pick it up and got a deal on the upgrade....only $10 more per day at the counter vs $65 more a day over the phone.
Did you know that many car rental ez car rental coupons places charge for extra drivers? We that out during our recent trip to Hawaii. The charge was $12 a day for an extra driver... Not worth it if you can get by with one driver.
ez car rental coupons I've had to get rentals before, the insurance is much cheaper through an autopac ez car rental coupons agency than from the car rental. Also check your credit card benefits, some cards cover insurance if you use your credit card, worth looking into.
i use enterprise - great service, super fast processing and an excellent price. we rented this past weekend to go to the US, declined ez car rental coupons the extra coverage and managed to get the upgrade because we picked up the car at 1 p.m. and there was no economy cars left so very sweet deal with unlimited kms for 62.00. pick up and drop off less than 5 minutes from home!!!
But big advise, if you have a Gold Card or other credit card that has accident insurance, use that and you don't have to purchase their insurance. OR, you can get additional insurance ez car rental coupons through Autopac which is also cheaper than car rental company insurance.
I have rented cars in Manitoba and in other provinces and I have been recently looking into this as well for travel. Some things to consider - as noted in other comments - in addition to basic rental price. Like many purchases, it is the fees and taxes that add up!:
- check company sites - special offers are often available. ez car rental coupons Hertz gives a basic CAA member discount, plus CAA weekly, weekend, discounts, and other discounts. Right now Thrifty has a 15% discount if book and pay by American Express. Companies and locations vary. Enterprise will give a CAA discount at some locations ez car rental coupons - it is not an official discount, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Note that each location is individually operated, so different vehicles may be available and different policies.
- where are you renting /using the vehicle and how far are you driving? Enterprise - and possibly others - has unlimited mileage within the province but have a basic free 200 km per day plus additional mileage charge for travel outside the province. I have found the outlet I have used to be flexible to some degree eg going to Kenora ON. Other companies have unlimited km so if you are going out of province, or extended trip out of province, this may be better for you.
- rental at airports : as noted by someone else - these outlets have to pay a fee for the location - some also at hotel sites in high touristy areas - Vancouver for example is about 18%!! - which is passed along to you. But sometimes you have no choice.
- most have daily, ez car rental coupons weekend, or weekly rates. Note that a rental of 5 days counts as weekly. Manitoba has good weekend ez car rental coupons rates - up to half the regular price - but you have to keep it for Saturday night - the rate is uually good for anytime ez car rental coupons from as early as Thursday to as late as Tuesday. A 'Day' is 24 hours. Note that return time is at the same time or before the time you picked up. Some companies have an hour's grace period before charging you the extra hourly fee - I believe Enterprise does not have this. BUT other provinces do not have this weekend deal - I have rented in Victoria BC and they had never heard of this - too many tourists to keep them busy, I guess!
- if you find out you need the car longer or shorter than you booked it for, you can just call them to extend the rental ez car rental coupons - good idea to call so they are aware and can note on the rental agreement, or you can return earlier - price will be adjusted.
- fuel: most companies give the car to you with tank full and you return it full, or you will be charged to fill it with a service charge added. Enterprise is the only one I have experienced that does not do this full tank: they note the tank fill level when it goes out and you have to bring it back at the same level - a bit annoying in my view, but this is what they do.
- insurance. GET insurance. Loss damage waiver coverage at the company is expensive but gives you the most coverage - i.e. generally zero deductable in case of any incident. But it costs about $25 or more per day. Note what your responsibility is for the vehicle in an 'incident' ez car rental coupons eg you can be responsible for loss of use coverage - the days the car is not able to be rented if it is being repaired. Some credit cards also give coverage - read the small print with your card to see what is covered. In Manitoba, get Autopac rental car insurance coverage before you leave - it is very good value - $100 deductable - but check the details for exact coverage - they have info online or at autopac offices. Price is about $15 for the policy plus $2 per day, min 3 days, for Manitoba rentals, about $4/day for renting ez car rental coupons in other provinces, and a higher rate ($7?/day) for outside the country. Note that the person getting the autopac coverage must be the same person who rents the vehicle. Also other family members are included on this policy. You may want to add on a couple of days to what you expect to use the car in case of unexpected delay in returning ez car rental coupons it. Cars rented in Manitoba are insured by the company with Autopac to the same basic coverage as residents eg $500 deductable. If you are borrowing a vehicle from relatives or friends in another ez car rental coupons province, you can also get this rental car insurance, as it also applies. I have done this. You can get the coverage for up to 30 days at one time - cheaper than getting it several times - then if you don't need it as long you can cancel it and get a refund of the balance, after the basic 3 day coverage. As someone also has noted, ez car rental coupons Winnipeg U-Drive also has the autopac-style rental coverage/price.
- inspect ez car rental coupons the vehicle before you take it out - usually done with rental person - and be sure that existing damage is noted. I have heard horror stories in the US - people have been advised to take pictures of any damage before you take it out in case proof is needed and it is contested on return. Renting locally from a smaller agency is a much calmer experience than the kind at a major airport! If you have a small incident, call the rental location first - they may be able to have it repaired without claiming from insurance.
- driving to the US - you may have to get authorization to do this. I have never checked ez car rental coupons on this part. In any case, they will want to know what provinces you are planning ez car rental coupons to drive to and this will be noted on the rental agreement.
- If you want a specific type of vehicle, you can request it but they can't guarantee it, other than size category, though they will give a free upgrade if your ordered car is not available - but when you get to the counter, you can ask what is available if you don't like one type. You can request 2 door or 4 door - and if you are travelling, you may want a car with a trunk rather than a hatchback.
As far as companies ez car rental coupons go, I have in recent years rented for shorter and longer periods from Enterprise (the same location) and have found them to be terrific to deal with (mind you, when they know you on a first names basis, it may be that you are there too much!). In my experience, ez car rental coupons I could call to see if they had a car (I was without a car for several months so rented frequently) and they would help me out if they could at short notice. Enterprise also advertises that they will pick you up and drop you off, so this is a benefit. I have also rented from Thrifty in Winnipeg for short periods and from Hertz when travelling out of the province, since they are generally at airports and allow spouse to drive for 'free' - they didn't used to need their own CAA membership.
ez car rental coupons I have an addition to car rental insurance. ez car rental coupons We were away recently and rented a vehicle for a day, but were unable to get the autopac coverage in advance so got the rental agency coverage. We began to wonder about third party liability coverage - and that is potentially a much larger problem than writing off a $20,000 car! Third party liability coverage is not available from car rental companies at least not the company/Enterprise we rented at . And of course, they are just protecting their investment, the car. I called to check with Autopac today: every Manitoba driver is covered for $200,000 in third party liability generally property damage and personal injury . If you have extended your third party liability on your personal vehicle - and please say you have - to $1M, $2M, or $5M, then you have 'Third Party Portability
