Born and raised in the rural town of Wellesley, Phillips fell in love with cottage life during his family’s many summer trips to Nobel, a village located on the shores of Parry Sound. To this day, he’s still participating in the family ritual.
Phillips went to Humber College for the hospitality and tourism management program. In the program he ended up doing three different unpaid placements, which opened his eyes to the hospitality industry.

One of his first major events at the resort, a golf tournament benefitting the Minden Flood Relief Fund on June 16, sold out in a day. With NHL players Cody Hodgson and Matt Duchene on board for the event, as well as a committee dedicated to making the event as successful as possible, Phillips is already off to a strong start.
“I’m very much looking forward to being a part of transforming the resort from where we are now to making it a place that people seek to come. It’s a huge challenge and one that I’m really excited to undertake.”
