Conch is a sea snail that they eat fried in fritters, in salad, or just plain, it kind of tastes like calamari to me but a little chewier. I like the fritters but I had to pass on eating it plain, seeing the snail freaked me out a bit.
Compared to Cancun, we didn t do any tours but we didn t feel the need to, there was enough to do with going to the beach and spending time with friends. They do have lots of tours there like swimming with dolphins, diving with sharks and boat tours which I m sure are amazing, especially the shark one.
Unlike Cancun, you don t see rows and rows of hotels everywhere with big shopping centers. There is the Atlantis which is huge but it was on the other side of the island where we were. Freeport has more of a close, welcoming, and family friendly atmosphere which I adored.
