Good post! I ve been a couple of times to London and I ve loved it and I really enjoy reading anythi

How we prepared While we were living abroad in Scotland, we were able to take a couple of trips to London because of direct flights from Aberdeen. Even though easyJet had last-minute options that were affordable, we always ran into the same issue: hotels. The ones in convenient locations were booked up quickly. If you know you ll be making the trip in the near future, it s important to compare expensive and cheap options discount canada car rental in London , and make a list of amenities that you would like. For us, location and free breakfast are deal-breakers. We always find a place that s close to everything so we can walk instead of spending extra money on cabs, and a big breakfast means spending less on lunch. And if you eat a ton like me, you can skip lunch and spend that time sightseeing we always took weekend trips so this was important.
Sightseeing and getting around After you find somewhere to rest your sleepy head, make a list of everything you d like to see to help your group stay on track. While my friends were interested in browsing Harrod s, my husband was interested in visiting every museum possible; it will differ for each group. Before we left on vacation, we downloaded  Triposo  maps on our iPad for easy access, plus this also helped us narrow down what we wanted to explore.
We found that the easiest way to get to these sites was by walking, riding the hop-on, hop-off buses, and by navigating the underground. Even though most tourists feel a bit stressed when someone mentions the underground, it s really not that difficult. The system is similar to the L in Chicago or the Metro in Washington, DC. But back to the hop-on, discount canada car rental hop-off buses. You might feel like a complete tourist riding these things, but they run all day and get you to all of the sites. One of the bus stops was even in front of our hotel. How convenient! We bought a multiple day pass and used it the entire time we were there.
Great list! Granted I ve been to London as a kid, but since moving here with Ryan we have not seen a whole lot of London yet. We need to do a good four things on your list still. I am really looking forward going there again at Christmas to go to the German Christmas market and then to Hamley s with my sons. London is so awesome at Christmas time with all the lights! Thank you for linking up Rachel, as always a pleasure to read your blog. :D
When we first moved here, the thing that worried me the most was the tube. I was terrified of getting lost and not being able to get back home. All of that stress was totally unwarranted though it is super easy to navigate. If I can do it, anyone can!
Great tips! The Underground really is easy to get used to, even for a Los Angelino like myself with very little experience in public transportation. Plus, walking as much as possible means that you find little unexpected treasures AND burn extra calories discount canada car rental to make room for goodies later. :) I also really loved The Eye. I am terrified discount canada car rental of heights, but it was fun and you can really see a lot of the city that way. :)
I studied discount canada car rental abroad in London and I liked it so much I went back for 3 more months! My bf is from London discount canada car rental and he just flew back there yesterday from visiting me in CA, I wish I could fly back with him!! I love it so =]
This was a very helpful post! :) My boyfriend moves to London soon to study abroad and I m already looking discount canada car rental forward to visiting him there! It s been a couple of years since I last visited discount canada car rental London, but I ve been dying to go again. :)
Good post! I ve been a couple of times to London and I ve loved it and I really enjoy reading anything London-related. I m very looking forward to going back, hopefully discount canada car rental soon, and the London Eye is high on my list :)
I loooove London. And those are good tips I ve done the tube and I ve done the double-decker hop-on/hop-off tour. I think it s worth it for a short visit, especially a self-guided one. And even more so if the person s never been to Europe before it can make an overwhelming experience a lot more smooth and there are always fun facts to be learned! :)
I loved London! I m going to get around to doing a post about it someday soon. My favorites were the London Eye and Tower of London, and we were lucky enough to get same day tickets to see Wicked. Love seeing all the abroad discount canada car rental recaps!
discount canada car rental As a Londoner, I am biased, but I think it s the best city in the world! Westminster Abbey is amazing, I spent hours in there last year and I m determined to go back again soon to see bits I missed out on. I also love all the markets there and am determined to check out all the big ones before summer ends. If you re ever back in town, please let me take you on a market tour!
I was looking at hotels near Hyde Park, but that area doesn t seem too close to other attractions/sites. Maybe it s not that big of a deal? Can you recommend any other neighborhoods or places to stay for a first-timer?
i LOVED the hop on, hop off buses! I ve heard a lot of negative things about them but it was a great way to see a big portion of the city in one day! I got to see so much in one day and then became more comfortable with traveling with the tube because I understood the layout of London a bit more.
