jinxeh13 18th-Sep-2013 11:37 pm (UTC) Yay, creepy post! I love creepy posts, they take me back to the first house I lived in as an "adult," with roommates, and all the creepy shit that happened there, lol. Oh ~nostalgia. Settling into this post rn.
jinxeh13 18th-Sep-2013 11:52 pm (UTC) I don't have any long, dramatic stories. Just a lot of little things. Like, things would always myrtle beach vacation packages fall of shelves and get thrown at us in the bathroom. Once, I was sitting on the couch in the living room, which shared a doorway with the kitchen, and saw / heard a glass jar fly off the top of the microwave and land face-down on the linoleum floor (without breaking). (We did have four cats, but none of them were in the kitchen at the time, I checked.) We'd hear random scratching and voice-like sounds from the basement; there were stairs in the living room that went upstairs, but it was like three steps, landing, then twenty steps upstairs, and there was a grate on the landing leading myrtle beach vacation packages right down into the basement and we heard lots of stuff down there. Once, my roommate was lying around on the couch and thought she heard another roommate calling for her to come downstairs, but no one else was actually home. There were a couple of occasions myrtle beach vacation packages where I would get home and come in through the back door and call out to see if anyone was home, and a voice would answer but then a check through the house would show that no one was actually there. Another roommate, myrtle beach vacation packages the only guy to live there at first, ended up moving myrtle beach vacation packages into the basement and transforming it into kind of a cool, sub-level bachelor-pad / apartment. Everything was fine at first, but then after a couple of weeks he started having vivid dreams that he was waking up in bed to find one of us roommates (usually one girl, C, but sometimes me) just standing in the the corner and staring at him. Sometimes electronics in the house would randomly turn off and on; the TV, my record player, the radio in the basement, etc. A few months after we moved in we were having tea with the neighbor lady (she was a lot older, and had lived in her house for like 30 years or something)and she told us that the previous owner of the house (the guy that owned it before our slum landlord)committed suicide in one of the upstairs rooms. Which was...news to us, thanks for telling us, landlord. Or not. Once we got drunk and decided it'd be a good idea to go into this little back-room myrtle beach vacation packages attached to attic bedroom that our roommate lived in, while she was at work, and use a black light to look for signs of blood because that was the room, besides the basement, that most of us got the creepiest vibes in, and we found all these splatter marks on the ceiling (but not the walls; they'd be recently painted). I know there's more, but it's been a few years since I lived there and I can't remember right now, lol. I lived there for two years and didn't die. And rent was hella cheap, so hey.
makahakat 18th-Sep-2013 11:37 pm (UTC) yay creepy post! i saw insidious 2 this past weekend and it was def the scariest movie ive seen this year, i want to see it again but no one will go with me and im not brave enough to go alone lol :( my bff and i are planning on making a list of the most haunted places in america myrtle beach vacation packages and slowly roadtripping through them though :D. any suggestions?? (never myrtle beach vacation packages heard of skinwalker ranch but ill add it on haha) Edited at 2013-09-18 11:38 pm (UTC)
giant_totoro 18th-Sep-2013 11:41 pm (UTC) that sounds awesome tbh. I'm trying to do something like that with my friend (but flying from place to place instead of driving lol). gettysburg, key west, new orleans, charleston, boston etc are all on the list
thespockingdead 18th-Sep-2013 11:44 pm (UTC) Visit the Queen Mary in Long Beach for sure. Even though they have a lot of touristy ghost tours and stuff, there's a lot of legit creepy shit that goes down there. And if you can, stop by Cal State Channel Islands. The entire school used to be a mental hospital, half of the buildings are still abandoned, and it's haunted as FUCK.
qween_frostine 18th-Sep-2013 11:50 pm (UTC) New Orleans (obvs plugging my hometown) is fabulous! And some of the tours are really fun. Also Magnolia Plantation (I think it is in Natchitoches) is always on specials as "one of the most haunted places in the world", and all I want to do is stay there, myrtle beach vacation packages but none of my friends will go with me.
likegunfire 18th-Sep-2013 11:51 pm (UTC) you should find haunted places that haven't been turned into attractions. idk of any recs but going to places that have been featured on tv shows (like on those Most Haunted or Ghost Hunter shows) seem like a waste of time or money
deargirl 19th-Sep-2013 12:23 am (UTC) It's probably not hte most haunted place ever but I've always wanted to do the haunted pub crawl is St. Augustine. I've heard there's myrtle beach vacation packages lots of haunted stuff up there too, esp at Flagler college (I'm from FL so this is a driveable excursion for me lol)
stellar_kar 19th-Sep-2013 10:04 am (UTC) The Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee! myrtle beach vacation packages If you stay there you already feel kinda weirded out (well most people from out of state) because that town is so far removed from the cities.
makahakat 18th-Sep-2013 11:39 pm (UTC) me and my roomies are making a list of movies for now through october to watch, one of my roommates has like...never seen any halloween/classic scary movies, its bizarre haha
mrscantelope 19th-Sep-2013 12:25 am (UTC) Okay I will share two. The first is from my uncle. For background: When he was a teenager, his bedroom was in the basement of my grandparents' house. myrtle beach vacation packages At the top of the stairs that led to the basement was a side entrance to the house. One night, as he was lying in bed, he heard the side door at the top of the stairs open. Coming down the stairs, he heard what sounded like the footsteps of four large dogs. Only when they were almost to the bottom of the steps, the footsteps changed and now sounded like four people. They came into his room and walked around the perimeter, touching his stuff. Then he heard them come closer to his bed--two on each side. They started to pull on his blankets and then they stopped and went back upstairs. In the morning, there was a mirror that had fallen down in his closet or something myrtle beach vacation packages but otherwise his stuff was undisturbed. The end. The second story I can't remember well enough to do real justice, but I will put down what details I remember and you can let your imagination fill in the rest. This is from my friend who spent some time in Guatemala. He was going to stay in this pretty small village, and the place where he was staying was this outbuilding that was attached to the main house through a little outside myrtle beach vacation packages corridor/courtyard. The proprietors told him he had to be VERY certain myrtle beach vacation packages to lock the door at night. So he did, but it was just one of those hook/latch locks (so not super sturdy). That night, what sounded like many many birds started flying myrtle beach vacation packages up against the outside of his door, banging into it and rattling the door and lock. He was super freaked myrtle beach vacation packages out, but there wasn't any way he could leave his room without going through the door, so he just tried to ignore the sounds of beating wings and go to sleep. The next morning there were feathers all around the courtyard/corridor thing. He tried to talk to the people he was staying with about it, and they explaine
