This house is located on a quiet natural setting with low boat traffic, a spectacular unobstructed view, and a crystal clear lagoon. Great location. 90 minutes to Key West (south) and 40 minutes to Dolphin Research Center (north). Grocery stores about 2 miles south. Grocery store is important because toilet paper and bath soap are NOT provided at the condo. Otherwise place is highly recommended.

We were looking for a place to acommodate kids, grandkids and a foreighn exchange student. With the addtion of the downstairs "hospitality suite" it worked out perfectly. Excellent location on a large lagoon.
Sea turtles, various fish, rays and manatees visited each day. A pair of double kayaks (come with house)and 3 of our own allowed us to enjoy the water en masse. Marathon turned out to be an unexpected treat. Nice beaches and great restaurants provided nice side trips when we weren't simply enjoying the great ambiance of the house. Enjoyed our stay very much and would stay there again.

I'm 63 years old and started going to Marathon for Lobster season in 1972 and have only missed 3 or 4 years so I have stayed in a lot of different houses over the years, I've been staying with Mary and Joe for 3 years now and unless I buy a house in marathon I do not plan on going anywhere else, no reason to for the money it's all you could ask for right on a very large turn basen deep clean water with all kind of marine life, and this year we had a consent new visitor a very large sea turtle aloha airlines 100 free tickets about 4 foot across he just hung around. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Very relaxing, fishing off of the dock was great everyday, and the canoes were so much fun!! The bed in the master bedroom aloha airlines 100 free tickets was extremely comfortable and I am very picky when it comes to mattresses. Our two boys, 12 and 14, had a blast fishing, canoeing, and snorkeling. We truly enjoyed Marathon and this little piece of heaven. We would definitely go back.
We stayed here for two weeks in June. The house was very accommodating for a family of four. We enjoyed using the bikes and kayaks that were provided with the house. For all you fisherman - there is freezer to hold all of your bait!!! Lots of parking space for multiple vehicles.

The setting is picture perfect with views of the entire bay that has access to the Gulf. We enjoyed using the kayaks and often rode the bicycles throughout the island to shopping, restaurants and Sombrero beach nearby.
My wife and I spent a quiet and restful week at Joe and Mary's well-appointed rental duplex. Our toughest issue any day was fighting the (fleeting) guilt we felt about sitting around and doing little more than gazing out over the water, jumping in for a swim or taking out one of the kayaks. The open vistas across the water were much nicer than I imagine we would have had on a narrow channel, and manatees and other (for us) exotic marine life swam right up to the dock.

Several manatees came to the seawall when we saw them out in the bay. Spraying a hose into the water brings them over to take a drink of the fresh water. My husband swam with one and it was friendly and happy for the company. The palm trees, pelicans, egrets and the fish my husband caught off the seawall were a great diversions. Thet sea kayak was wonderful and should be taken advantage of. We would be back next March except for the stairs to the condo itself have become too hard for me. Our loss. I f I have any complaints it would be a mon th is not long enough.
WOW! Thats what we said when we walked into Joe and Mary's rental. The view from the window every evening aloha airlines 100 free tickets at sunset was breathtaking. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking or baking. The Kayaks were great, and although we didn't use the bikes they are there if you need them. There are beaches and State Parks nearby and Key West is only an hour away. The gas barbeque worked perfect and the refrigerator/freezer in the storage area under the unit is a perfect place to keep your bait and chum. We rented a fishing boat for 4 days while there and after a long day on the ocean, we would lie down and fall asleep in the most comfortable master bed I have ever slep in. The boys fished from the dock, and the Kayak and had a blast.
