We decided to make a last gasp get away for some sunshine and relaxation to Orlando. Our usual hotel was full and due to the Easter Holidays a lot were either hotel lawrence dallas offering massively inflated pricing for less than desirable accommodation and less than desirable locations or were fully booked. We managed to find a great deal for the Wyndham Grand Hotel and Resort hotel lawrence dallas and booked hotel lawrence dallas up.
The Wyndham Grand Hotel is actually hotel lawrence dallas part of a large seasonal ownership area that the Wyndham controls around the lake. This has a great advantage over other hotels in the area as hotel patrons are able to use all of the facilities on the site including a multitude of pool areas, lazy rivers, golf and many other activities. Its also very pleasant to be able to walk around an enclosed area in Orlando and the lake is picture hotel lawrence dallas perfect with ducks fish a plenty to provide some entertainment.
The resort is located within Disney making hotel lawrence dallas it only a few minutes from the parks, water parks and a really short drive to Downtown Disney. Its also only a few minutes from Interstate 4 leading to Orlando s other attractions. The only drawback I found was that there is literally nothing within walking distance, if you don t have a car then getting about using the hotel buses and taxis may limit you. I wouldn t advise anyone to do Orlando without a car regardless of location!
Anyway we arrived quite late on Good Friday after a long flight, long wait on baggage and an even longer wait to collect our hire car. We parked up at the parking garage hotel lawrence dallas (£16 dollar per day, it does seem very unreasonable to charge the parking fee AND a resort fee of $18 per day when you are a hotel guest). The garage was never full beyond the second floor and has multiple lifts directly into the hotel or to the front of the hotel. We were the only people checking in and the very pleasant check in girl had us checked in within minutes. I asked if they could upgrade us since we were staying for 15 nights hotel lawrence dallas and the girl made a quick call and sure enough we were upgrade to a king room with a pool/lake view on the 11th floor. She also gave us an activity day by day menu as well as explained that we could use any of the pool and facilities around the lake. Perfect.
The room was large, spacious and was furnished excellently. The King bed was very comfortable and had great linen to allow you to either sleep under a sheet or a heavier duvet. Air conditioning in Orlando is always a big thing and the AC in the room could freeze or melt you to your desires! The room also had a nice seating area, desk and modern Samsung Smart TV.
The toilet area was split into two rooms with the first room being a large sink area with plenty of room for toiletries and such like. The second room was the actual toilet and shower area. The shower was always powerful and the temperature entirely manageable to your own wants. Lastly our room had a balcony that was a great place to sit and watch the fireworks from Epcot and Disney MGM or a thunderstorm.
The room was excellent though it could be a little noisy depending on your neighbours which was slightly disappointing given the rest of the quality of the hotel. On a few nights we had a boisterous family next door who had a regular running battle until midnight. The pool is also open until 11pm at night and the balcony windows were not the best at keeping the noise out. Just something to bear in mind.
We ate at various hotel lawrence dallas areas in the hotel. Tesoro Cove is where the breakfast buffet takes place and it has a massive selection of excellent food available hotel lawrence dallas from cereals to freshly hotel lawrence dallas cooked eggs to absolutely killer fresh Krispy Kreme donuts and freshly made cronuts. At $22 a head it isn t cheap but if you have a big appetite you could fill up here and skip lunch! We felt as though we were just packing food into to justify the large cost so we ended up having breakfast at the Barista Coffee hotel lawrence dallas Bar in the main lobby. Here you could get fresh Starbucks and much lighter and less costly options for breakfast. Both can get extremely busy depending hotel lawrence dallas on the time you visit. We also ate at a couple of the pool side restaurants/cafes and all were decent hotel lawrence dallas enough and reasonably priced for a hotel.
The main hotel pool is probably the most shaded with trees and many parasols available. The only downside is that the pool is heated so isn t quite as cold as you might need it in the Florida heat! We found some of the other hotels were much colder though the trade off was that they featured lesser shaded areas. The main pool has rent-able cabanas that feature hotel lawrence dallas fridges, pool side service and TV s, though at $40 per half day it seemed a bit much for what you got. The pools and pool areas were always immaculate.
The staff do need a mention here, regardless of the time of day or the area of the hotel there were always hotel lawrence dallas courteous and helpful even when dealing with what I would say were unreasonable request from more difficult guests.
