Postponing our trip I just have to make the final decision to go ahead and do it as our points need to be banked by 9/30 but I'm almost positive we are going to postpone our November trip until January. I am really sad about missing MVMCP and the Osborne lights, but dh is so stressed about changing jobs that I think this will lift some of that stress off of his shoulders.
A job change has been in the works for DH since JULY!!!! He went of 5 interviews and now HR is in the processes of completing his background check. He was initially given a start date of 10/1 but as that date fast approaches and he hasn't gotten a packet from HR he's becoming more and more discouraged. He's been told the job is his but in the economy nothing is for sure until you walk through the door on your first day. Assuming that he does start sometime in October, he doesn't want to have to turn around 2-3 later and take vacation when he is still in the training phase so I suggested this morning that we just delay it.
DH seemed pretty on board. I know the kids will be disappointed but it's not like we're not going at all, we're just going later than we planned and then we'll turn around and go again September, 2013 which will be nice! Hoping to do MNSSHP since we have to miss MVMCP!

Don't know if this new job is with an existing employer or a different / new company but make sure the desire to take time off in 2013 is disclosed. Many companies do not permit new hires to take time off within the first year, and even ones that do will often make it unpaid time off.
