Published fares can be purchased from Delta directly, or from most Travel Agents, either on line or from brick and mortar types. If you compare Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz pricing with those on airline websites, they are identical in most cases and reflect the same fare code. It is extremely easy to find Inexpensive fares on websites (which turn out to be T, L, etc fare codes) so the thinking must be to force customers solely to purchase through Delta and they can raise their fares.
