Gulf Air’s popular Frequent Flyer programme renamed recently ‘Falcon Flyer’ now offers members even


Bahrain's national carrier, Gulf Air, marked its successful 40 years of service to Cairo reaffirming its longstanding relationship with The Arab Republic of Egypt and unveiling a series of tailored commercial initiatives for the Egyptian market. Celebrating the occasion, the airline also announced a discount on Falcon Gold fares from Cairo to all Gulf Air destinations.
Addressing dignitaries and travel agents at a dinner event held in Cairo, Gulf Air Deputy CEO and Chief Administration Officer Mr. Maher AlMusallam said, "Gulf Air is proud of the fact that we were one of the first Gulf carriers to fly to Egypt landing in Cairo in 1972. Since then we have been serving Egypt's capital city and today we offer over 4,000 seats a week between Cairo and Bahrain."

On the occasion, Gulf Air also unveiled a range of commercial initiatives tailored to meet the needs of the growing number of corporate passengers travelling from Egypt. The airline launched Falcon Corporate Plus, a package designed exclusively online travel magazine for corporate travellers offering a range of benefits such as price discounts and free upgrades from economy to Falcon Gold class.
Gulf Air has also designed an innovative programme specifically for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Egypt that offers a range of incentives including a double bonanza by which both – the member organizations and their travelling employees – earn miles that can be redeemed for free flights, upgrades, etc.

Of Gulf Air's latest commercial initiatives, the "Sky Hub" offers the world's first full connectivity onboard long-haul flights with high speed internet, 3G-4G mobile data speed connectivity, voice over the internet (VOIP) i.e. Skype, streaming videos and the world's first in-flight live TV via satellite. Passengers can stay connected in the sky for approximately USD 25 for 24 hours.
Gulf Air is well positioned to connect Cairo to several key destinations in the region with 10 weekly flights and excellent connectivity via Bahrain to prominent cities in the Gulf, the Indian sub-continent and the Far East such as Dubai, UAE, Bangkok, Thailand and Delhi, India in less than two hours.
To mark the 40 year anniversary Gulf Air launched a promotional discount for Falcon Gold travellers from Cairo on all flights. This promotion ends on 25 October 2012.
