The timeline for adding a new destination, including analysis, planning and execution, generally ranges from eight months to three years. There are many steps in the process to determine what cities are feasible for us to add to our growing network. To date, we fly to 70 destinations ( Dallas/Fort Worth marks 71 when we launch service on May 1).
Our overall strategy for growing our network is one of sustainability. I have to agree with Danny and Alex above. I fly down to SRQ alot and i ve heard from customers and airport employees that they want an SRQ-ORD route. There are alot of midwesterners on the Gulf coast of Florida. With Airtran pulling out of SRQ and their flights oversold all the time it would be lucrative for Jetblue to have a route like this added.
I think route planning might be one of the more fun jobs at an airline. It sounds complicated, but not quite as complicated as scheduling cruising together lyrics the flight crews and aircraft. I can only imagine the dificulty of pulling it all together.

Please, please, please come to Newport News, VA (PHF) with non-stop flights to New York (LGA) and Boston! We are losing Airtran next week and have no affordable alternatives. Non-stop flights out of Richmond, VA and Norfolk, VA, both an hour away, are more than 3 times as expensive as Airtran s have been. I have flown the LGA-PHF round-trip at least monthly for years and my flights were almost always full. If not Newport News, then maybe non-stops from Richmond, VA (RIC) .
Myrtle beach SC wants jetblue. Their customers are dying for us. I fly spirit often between LGA and MYR and customers talk on the plane about needing jetblue in MYR. By the way a airport expansion is under way and looking good.
@ TPA girl, You are correct about Trinidad not being a vacation destination. While the country boasts the second largest carnival after Brazil, the economy is not dependent upon tourism. Many native Trinbagonians (residents of both Trinidad and Tobago) frequently travel back and forth for family and business reasons. (AA flies a 767 [a.m. flights] and a 757 [p.m. flights]) It is a business destination as well as a large exporter of natural cruising together lyrics gas and petroleum.
