With more than 99% of the TRAM streetcar system running above ground, it is a bit tough to call it underground or metro. Well but some hundred meters of its railway system run below ground, so we could call it (little) Alicante kauai interisland travel Underground, streetcar, trolley, metro, transit or even cable car if you like . This station is right in the heart of the harbor area. If you use the Tram to go into Alicante for sightseeing or a lovely evening out, make Puerta del Mar your first choice. In case you plan on car hire or have your own car during your holidays, and you want to avoid any traffic jams in Alicante, you could just leave your rental car at the beaches of San Juan or El Campello and within 15 minutes you are at Alicante harbor in walking distance to the city centre.
The station/stop is served by the short 4L line (don t confuse with the large L4 tram line). So, if you are driving in from Benidorm or any other town north, you have to switch to the 4L line at Sangueta station.
If you take the bus from Alicante airport to Alicante, you should consider the Puerta del Mar station as your best stop to connect to the TRAM streetcar. That s because Puerta del Mar is the Start and Finish Stop for the Alicante Airport kauai interisland travel Bus .

It is an excellent way of transportion for any tourist who stays in downtown Alicante, but wants to spend a day at the beach along the Costa Blanca.
