Anyone who has more than the 2 adult/2 nelly tour dates child family knows the joy of trying to find hotel accommodation to fit the whole family.  So it was a dream opportunity to stay at the Hilton nelly tour dates Sydney for a weekend with our crew as part of Hilton HHonors' Any Weekend, nelly tour dates Anywhere sale. I m a Sydney girl at heart and spent half my career working in the city and I miss those days. Shopping in my lunchbreak in Pitt St Mall, drinks on a Friday night and lunch down by Circular Quay in the sun. We don t get into the city much these days so I decided it would be fun to have a weekend there with the whole family.
And the timing couldn t have been better. Sydney nelly tour dates s hottest day ever (so hot that my iPhone died in the heat at 3pm), our house had been painted all week and our beds were still all covered in plastic. I couldn t wait to check in and escape the heat and paint. We had a weekend at the Hilton to rest, shop, sightsee, eat and maybe squeeze in some more shopping.
We had interconnecting rooms with a huge King bed in one room and twin singles in another; plenty of room for us.  As soon as we checked in and little people had made themselves comfortable, finn had helped himself to a packet of chips from the mini bar and elodie had already nelly tour dates rung up reception nelly tour dates (we had to unplug the phones for the rest of the weekend) .we knew it was time for dinner. The Hilton Sydney  is right opposite QVB and next door to The Galeries (previously Galeries Victoria) on George Street. Two of my favourite places to shop and eat. We usually eat at a little japanese place Ichi Ban so decided to try Wagamama  this time. The queue moved quickly and the staff moved a couple so we could sit at the end of a table with the pram. So nice when they can do this even with a queue out the door.
We used to eat at Wagamama all the time in London so it was fun to go back with the little nelly tour dates ones. The menu is full of delicious japanese goodies and I had my old favourite of teriyaki salmon with some vegetable gyoza. The kids menu is fun and we ordered 3 of the yakitori sticks and noodles which came with a freshly squeezed apple juice. Keira was not a fan of the juice .I ll need to work on this. Oh and I hope you love our holiday hair. Please remember this was the hottest day ever recorded in Sydney.
the great thing about wagamama s is that it s noisy and fast so you don t keep little people waiting too long for their food. It is a very kid friendly place to eat. Golden rule of eating out with children food needs to come quickly or there will be trouble. Another golden rule of eating out with children nelly tour dates be prepared for mess. I am very used to the mess of rice we leave under a table and I always apologise to wait staff as we leave. Even if it s the local sushi train. Elodie prefers to save a little rice in her hair for later.
When we took the 1 minute walk back to the hotel the little ones discovered the chocolates on their pillows. Oh the excitement. I didn t know hotels did that any more. I also didn t get a photo because the chocolate disappeared. The little nelly tour dates ones had a big bubble bath and watched Hotel Transylvania tucked up in bed.  I always like to take a new DVD or two away with us whenever we are away from home and the little ones were just happy to get to watch a movie in bed. Because when you are 2 you don t want to stay in bed you want to discover the room and play with the curtains and turn the lights off and on.
Somehow we got everyone to sleep. Saturday  morning and we had a morning of sightseeing planned. Breakfast was up on level 36 and the Executive nelly tour dates Lounge. Talk about luxury. I ditched my usual breakfast of a banana and vegemite toast for some pain au chocolat and warm pastries topped off with a cappuccino courtesy of the nespresso machine.
And this is what it looks like when we take the whole crew to breakfast.  Yes people stare. I just smile back. We had some lovely conversations with tourists and staff in the hotel who had such nice things to say to us. I do appreciate it.
Now we have our breakfast system down pat. One of us sits with the little ones while the other fills a few plates and brings it back to the table and then once I ve got my coffee then the other person is up and gets what they d like and any top ups. And then we say 20 times to sit down, don t spill anything, watch your glass near the edge of the table, shhh and so on. we took a nice little stroll down to the Opera house for some photos. We walked past 2 of the places where I used to work finn let out a big WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? when told that mummy used to work there. Obviously he can t imagine that his mummy actually took a bus to the city like daddy and worked before he was born.

and with those photos ticked off our list we walked through the Rocks Market (such a great market for the whole family and not just your usual touristy stuff) and took the little ones to see where we got married.

and there was a bit queue outside a pattisserie with the most delicious macarons in the window so I had to stop and grab a little morning tea. You queue up and then you are faced with the pressure of what flavours to pick knowing that you have a growing queue behind you. I settled on Passionfruit with milk chocolate, nelly tour dates caramel, valhrona dark chocolate, rose, gingerbread, strawberry with white chocolate and something else I ve already forgotten.
we did a quick lunch in the myer food court, big, noisy and quick when everyone is starving nelly tour dates and wants to eat now. As a special treat we had told the little ones that we d let them go to a toys department and pick out a toy each. I didn t realise that Myer had the best lego section EVER.
There was some squealing and some oh mummy this is what I ve always wanted as we walked around. The lego friends section was the biggest I ve seen and all the big sets and latest are there. The toy section is a great way to break up the day, keep the little ones happy and also give them something to do back in the hotel room away from all of their toys.
now it was at this point in the weekend where retro daddy said this is all I packed for dinner tonight, I ll be ok won t I? meaning shorts and a tshirt and leather thongs and I gave him the look. You know the one. The one that wives and girlfriends all over the world give their other half when you say you re going somewhere nice (and you ll be going to a lot of trouble nelly tour dates to look nice) and they just want to wear any old thing. I think this is why men need another person in their life. Anyway someone needed to get a new pair of pants and shoes.
While everyone was happy and still smiling nelly tour dates we walked through QVB and back to the hotel. I treated myself to a little treat from Georg Jensen. No, not the pave diamond white gold piece to go in my fusion ring. Sadly not. I love Georg Jensen but don t have the budget for their jewellery these days. Oh and shopping in the city is much more exciting than the suburbs .casting for the next season of Australia s Next Top Model was going on in Pitt St Mall. Lots of long legged young girls were everywhere. I ducked in front of the crowds to grab this close up. Retro daddy had no idea what I was talking about.
While little people played with their new Lego in the hotel room, I grabbed an hours shopping to myself in Kinokuniya, the best bookstore in the world in my opinion and retro daddy then headed out for a little shopping.
We got ready for dinner and headed down to level 2 to Glass. I d eaten there once before and I knew it would be an amazing meal. However taking little people to eat totally changes any dining experience. I m happy to report that we were welcomed into the restaurant nelly tour dates and the food and service was amazing.
There was a kids menu with no trace of a chicken nugget or fish finger. There was colouring in and cute plastic sharks in their lemonade. nelly tour dates Oh and banana splits for dessert or even a mini creme brulee. You can definitely bring the little ones along to this restaurant. It s definitely a date restaurant if ever you need one in sydney or need to start dropping a few hints at your house.
Sunday morning had an early start, not by choice. Emerson decided 6am was as good a time as any to be up and at em. Breakfast again in the executive lounge (it was tough but you know we had to do it) then Sydney Tower Eye for the little ones. If you haven t been lately it starts with a great 4D movie that my little ones were so excited to see and then Finn chickened out and Elodie freaked out and dug her head into my neck and wouldn t let go of me.
