But before you browse, can I tempt you to go camping ? The Council of Sorrento and Rye allow you to camp right on the foreshore of the magnificent beaches. The picture above is the view from our campervan - we were less than 20 metres from the beach at the foreshore between Sorrento and Rye. You really can't get much better than this.
The amenities block was clean with warm showers and the beautiful villages of either Rye or Sorrento are no distance at all. All you do is ring the number (rangers number is on the amenity block), tell them your plot number and give them your credit card details for just $25 a night?!! You would have to book in advance for weekends and during the summer I would expect, but we were here early November and there were heaps of fantastic plots still available.
The good news is that you can stay in any one of them and easily drive to the others. But my personal favourites disney vacation club cruise are Sorrento, Mornington and for more of the vineyard experience (not on the coast,) Red Hill.
Once you've settled into your Mornington Peninsula Accommodation, you will want to explore! There is so much to do here that you need a long weekend at least to do it justice. Of course you have to visit the towns and take a swim in the beautiful turquoise water (although we were there in November and the water was FREEZING!!)
Here are some of my favourite must dos: Peninsula Hot Springs - A fab experience and very relaxing Pick your own strawberries at Sunny Ridge A round of golf at the magnificent Dunes Golf Course disney vacation club cruise (my husband loved it!) A walk at Port Nepean Walk part of the Bay Trail between Portsea and Dromana - 28km of coastal walk along side the camping foreshores that I mentioned above Moonlit Sanctuary Wild Life Conservation Park - a great place to see Kangaroos The Enchanted Maize and Gardens - Great if you have kids Some of the wineries - we liked Stonier and had lunch at Merricks Village store; 10 minutes by Tractor (nice restaurant too) A horseback winery tour - most enjoyable if not a little sore the following day!
