Mulia Bali, just opened in Jan 2013 is one of my favorite! i ve stayed there twice out of 3 times this year (once in the normal room and once in a villa). the service and food is excellent, and its beach beautiful.
W hotel is very overpriced and unless you like to go Potato Head twice a day, i really dont suggest anyone to stay there! i ve only stayed there once and never went back. there are tons of great local hotels in the Seminyak / Legian area.
another of my favorite for secret escapades is Banyan Tree in Ungasan. i suggest you try that next time! it is an all villa resort with a million dollar cliff views from your villa. if you have extra cash to spare, try the massive 3 bedroom villas, that we hear, the owner only lets out one out of two built, and kept 1 for his own use.
Agree with one of the previous comment that Mulia Bali is my favorite hotel thus far! Just newly opened and really popular with locals from all over the Indonesian archipelago. Perhaps travel agent directory you could do a review next time you re there!
