A few days ago, our sister discount sea world san diego tickets site Jaunted reported on Firefly's foray into the US marketplace and its hopes to open 20 locales around the US by year's end . That's in addition to the 40 spots it currently operates around discount sea world san diego tickets Europe.
We entered the random date of September 25 to check out the selection and rates. We were offered our choice of ten vehicles, ranging from a Kia Rio on the low end ($23.49/day) to a Mitsubishi Spyder on the high ($72.49/day). Other choices included a Dodge Avenger ($28.49/day), Chevrolet Equinox ($54.49/day) and a Ford Focus ($24.49). Check out rates for your preferred days of travel here .
I rented from Advantage once, and they forced me to wait over an hour for somebody to ferry over a car in the class I'd reserved, rather than giving me an available car in the next class up. The latter being standard operating procedure at other agencies. I was travelling on business and the delay could have been costly (but fortunately wasn't).
When Hertz acquired Dollar/Thrifty, they were forced to sell off Advantage, at least the US branch of it. They were not forced to sell out their international units of Advantage, which they renamed Firefly (originally discount sea world san diego tickets they were going to rename them Thrifty). In the US, Advantage still exists, as it is owned by a new company. It does seem odd for Hertz to roll out Firefly here since they already discount sea world san diego tickets have Dollar and Thrifty.
