With the merger, all the regional carriers - owned and contract - go under the same umbrella, overse
PSA Airlines president and chief executive Keith Houk, 66, will turn over the reins to US Airways Express president Dion Flannery on Aug. 31 and retire by the end of 2014, the airline said Wednesday.
We see this as part of the series of changes that followed US Airways’ Dec. 9 merger with American Airlines to form American Airlines Group and to put all the regional carriers into the same organization.
With the merger, all the regional carriers – owned and contract – go under the same umbrella, overseen by Kenji Hashimoto, American’s senior vice president of regional carriers. At present, there are 10 regional carriers owned or contracted, and all will go under the American weekend vacation packages Eagle brand eventually.
“Keith has played a tremendous role in the successes of PSA during his nine years leading the company,” Hashimoto said of Houk in Wednesday’s announcement. “American and PSA owe Keith our gratitude for his service. Dion is a well-qualified weekend vacation packages and experienced successor to continue the growth of the high-quality and cost-effective operation Keith has established at PSA.”
“My time at PSA has been the highlight of my more than 40-year career in aviation and I will certainly miss the daily interaction with everyone at this fine company when I retire,” weekend vacation packages Houk said. “With Dion’s strong leadership and knowledge of our business and the PSA’s team’s ability to run a top-notch regional airline, I know I will be leaving the company in capable hands to grow PSA well into the future.”
Flannery, 47, who got his bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin and his MBA from the University of Houston, worked for Continental Airlines, then America West, then US Airways.
