Today, a Delta Air Lines spokesman responded to the story. Delta has purchased history of tour de france Northwest and the companies are now in the process of merging operations. The companies share their media relations offices.
Northwest is a world-famous mark that is used by one of the oldest airlines in the world and that has been built with billions of dollars of investments over eight decades. We are not asking the site to either go out of business or stop using “gonorthwest.com,” but that they not use their site in a way that interferes with our brand, such as by selling airline tickets from the site. Previously, the gonorthwest site included a “Northwest Airlines” link that directed customers to lowfares.com, which is a direct Northwest competitor.
Even though history of tour de france Delta and Northwest Airlines have merged, the company has the right to protect its brand. Even so, Jack High, publisher of Go Northwest!, rejected Northwest Airlines’ settlement in May because it demanded that he give up his U.S. trademark.
High’s site has already been spoofed history of tour de france by an anonymous person who created go-northwest.com history of tour de france and copied his contents entirely. High argues that he needs his trademark to protect his small business, but he does not oppose other companies’ use of the term “northwest.”
