If yes, what are they and how are they to be met?
The two-day Global Congress will explore these issues through an exciting schedule of panel and roundtable discussions, workshops, and a performance of Courage to Think Monologues (featuring the stories of threatened scholars assisted by our network). The Congress will also include the 2014 SAR Network meeting open to SAR members, affiliates and invited guests will the goal of reviewing SAR’s mission, governance and Network strategy.
SAR seeks nominations for its Courage to Think Award . The award recognizes individuals, groups or institutions that have demonstrated exemplary commitment to protecting scholars and promoting academic freedom and the human rights of higher education communities, whether through the nature and impact of their professional work or private or community service, or by withstanding physical, emotional, professional or other personal risk.
Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis, however nominations received by  1st March, 2014 will be considered for possible selection and presentation of an award at SAR’s Global Congress in Amsterdam on 9-10 April.
