She aims to motivate and educate kids eat better and exercise more. Robbie Robinson of Hillsboro will get to see it first-hand next month. Nine-year-old Robbie Robinson, a fourth-grader at Hillsboro's Minter Bridge Elementary, has won a trip to the White House to tour Michelle Obama's kitchen garden hotels in washington d c and eat a special state dinner-style luncheon hotels in washington d c with the first lady and other winners.
Robbie, who is not a vegetarian, won that opportunity after he and his mom, Kassie Robinson, wrote and submitted a recipe for a healthy lunch featuring cups and cups of raw veggies and herbs that can be grown in an Oregon backyard.
Robbie and his mom will join 53 other winners, ages 8 to 12, representing every state and a few other locales for the Aug. 20 luncheon and garden tour. The contest was designed to promote hotels in washington d c healthy lunches as part of Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" initiative.

Robbie and his little sister, Rionagh, love going to the farmers markets in downtown Hillsboro and Orenco Station, sometimes picnicking with relatives on the fresh food they find there, Kassie Robinson said.
