It won t stop some folks from griping about the crummy product on the field, but the Chicago Cubs are going to reduce ticket prices for 2013. The move comes partly in response (I imagine) to the lowest attendance since 2003, and the first 100+ loss season in 46 years.
In general, ticket prices are 2% lower on average than they were last year, which doesn t sound like much, but ticket prices usually go in only one direction up. In the bleachers, the drop will be closer to 10%. That s swell.
The Cubs are sticking with their tiered-game approach to pricing (a bunch of Marquee level games (the most desirable), cruise addicts radio some Platinum level games (second-most desirable), some Gold, some Silver, cruise addicts radio and some Bronze), but there will be fewer of those higher tier games in 2013, which will lead to lower overall prices. The Tribune published a look at prices for next year :
So, that s the range on prices you can expect in 2013. You ll notice that the prices on individual tickets are also now a couple bucks higher than season ticket holder tickets (which, cruise addicts radio to me, is a nice nod to the season ticket holders, who are so important cruise addicts radio to the Cubs consistent revenue base (see, I can treat anyone like an asset, not just Cubs players)).
Wrong, its Rickys fault he s just found another way to line his fat pockets cruise addicts radio and gave everyone a scrap of bread to keep the hoards at bay as him and Theo build their bunker full of money below the McDonalds that he purchased.
The Yanks got one hell of a tv deal too. If I m not mistaken their tv deal is enough to cover payroll. maybe our next deal is big enough to cover our future payroll, assuming it s much, much bigger than the current one.
To compare the Yankees revenue/ticket prices/attendence/salary obligations to any other team in baseball is just ridiculous. The Yankees are not a big name in baseball they are a big name in the world. You can go overseas and ask peoiple about baseball and the first word out of their mouth will be Yankees.
So, are prices for the individual games actually lower, or are they just having cruise addicts radio less of the most expensive games which means prices are lower overall? I really couldn t care less how many marquee games there are, but I do care about the price for individual games.
Shouldn t the overall price of your season tickets go down since they reduced the amount of the pricey-er games? cruise addicts radio The amount for your seats may have stayed cruise addicts radio the same, but the overall price should go down. Unless I m missing something.
If you don t want to pay for them, if you think they aren t worth what you re being asked to pay for them, don t . It s not like season tickets are food (or, more importantly, beer). You can live without them. There are thousands of people ready to take your spot on the season ticket holder list.
I think lowering the prices of the regular tickets yeah, even 10% off the bleacher seats is more significant to regular fans than lowering season ticket holders prices. There are, what, 24k STH, and thousands more on the waiting list? (I really have no idea.) There are a whole lot more fans coming to the games on a day-to-day basis than a season basis. I think this matters more to them than to the folks that can afford to spend many thousands of dollars annually on their season tix.
Yeah i m not sure what is to get worked up about, cruise addicts radio its a good gesture to lower the cheapest seats by 10%. Being able to see a MLB team play for between $8-$25 dollars is a great deal. The low-A team here in GR can be as low as $5 for lawn or $15 for Box Seats so its a great deal. Now if I can find a way to get hotel, beer, and gas for a super cheap rate I d be going to more games. Why would we be up in arms about paying for one of the greatest experiences a baseball cruise addicts radio fan can ever have Wrigley Field. There is so much more to complain about than a lowering cruise addicts radio of ticket prices.
I purchased most of my single game tickets this season the day they went on-sale, but I ended up regretting it because I could have bought the same tix (resold) for 1/2 or less closer to the game. That s what I ll do in 2013. It s always kind of a gamble on team performance since losing drives resold tix prices down, but unfortunately I don t predict it will be a problem to wait in 2013. By July/August I knew plenty of people that couldn t give them away so paying face in March was a bad deal for me. Although it s always nice having them in hand.
I still get my tickets to watch the Cubs in Cinci for about $35 bucks and sit behind the Cubs dugout every time. It s a lot of fun because until this past year we usually out number the Reds fans. I love making Reds fans mad as hell when the Let s Go Cubbies chant starts and drowns out the Reds fans. LOL Good Times
This is such a crock, they try to create the perception cruise addicts radio of being fan friendly by supposedly reducing overall ticket prices by dropping cruise addicts radio the price on inflated Bleacher seats. My invoice actually went up $75 (which is a slap in the face). cruise addicts radio My question is, how does the supposed ticket reduction compare to the reduction in payroll? Wasn t the $140MM payroll the justification for the current ticket prices? Don t kid yourself cruise addicts radio when you see a packed house during the summer months, the place was filled cruise addicts radio with people who bought tickets on Stubhub from STH who sold at a significant loss (although I don t feel sorry for the brokers, cruise addicts radio if this put them out of business, it would be worth the loss). We re the ones who felt the impact of the rebuild, not the Ricketts (except for maybe at the concessions in April and September). The waitlist is a joke because waitlisters have no skin in the game (it costs nothing to join, the Bears and Hawks got this right by charging a deposit). I know for a fact they went through at least 10k spots last year. Yes I m frustrated, yes I m ranting and yes I ll renew because I love the team and love going to the games, but damn, come on Tom .help a brutha out!
