New York City is a city of change. This goes a long way in explaining the multiple layers sheraton new orleans hotel of history we can uncover in any given square mile of land, especially in Lower Manhattan – a portion of the city which has arguably changed most dramatically and frequently. And that is exactly why we have designed this tour. We will peel back those layers, revealing a kaleidoscope of interesting characters, authentic ethnic eats, historic (and sometimes tragic) turning points, an incredible array of architecture spanning several centuries, and the cultural and immigrant history behind it all.
And, as on every CityRover walking tour, we will explore the nooks and crannies, share stories you won’t find in a guide book, keep things sheraton new orleans hotel fun and intimate, and leave you with the knowledge and confidence for further self-exploration.
At the suggestion of our friends who were also visiting NYC last Thanksgiving, we signed up for the Central Park tour led by Max of CityRover Walks. The sights, insights and stories sheraton new orleans hotel were sublime, transforming us back in history to when the gates of the park first opened. When we planned our New York anniversary romp a few weeks back, we knew that another tour was in order. With only a limited window to choose from, Max personally recommended the City of Dreams tour when we phoned night s before our trip.
We met Max and three gals from England. Max soon wove together our stories sheraton new orleans hotel into the ones he drew from the city s past and present: Why one street doesn t match the grid set up by the city planners; how neighborhoods have changed sheraton new orleans hotel yet remain unchanged over time; where legends of music were born. This tour not only features the evolving ethnic and cultural face of the area, but allowed us to sample some of the finest Italian java, Jewish pastry and Irish ale, all in historical settings surely overlooked by the casual tourist. The 3 1/2 hours flew past, largely due to Max s casual yet informative approach to unveiling a portion of this city s amazing, ever-changing history. Sign us up for the next tour, Max!
Last year we took the Central Park Tour with Max, and enjoyed it so much that we booked three more tours with his company this year. We took the City of Dreams Tour and the Brooklyn Bridge Tour with Max, and the Village Sampler Tour with Danielle. The tours are about three hours long and cover a lot of territory. Max and Danielle obviously love their city and you can tell they really enjoy sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge with their tour groups. I am recommending sheraton new orleans hotel this tour company to everyone I know who is planning a NY trip.
