I am struggling with a gift idea for my mother. Without getting into too much detail, I want to buy my mom airline tickets to travel out later next year to visit her son and grandchildren who are stationed regency hotel queens gate london in Hawaii and I can’t seem to figure out how to accomplish this.

Is it even a good idea given how certain airlines can be rather difficult in getting flights, etc.? What about a travel agent (ie; Liberty Travel) – do they even do just airline tickets?
And before anyone suggests cash, I can’t give her money at Christmas for her to buy her own airline tickets because she will not do so and will end up blowing the money on other things before she buys the tickets (it’s a stretch for me financially to this now and woudl be next to impossible regency hotel queens gate london to have to do it twice!)

I ended up speaking to someone over the weekend who raved about Hawaiian Airlines ( roomy seats, fewer fees, direct flights, etc) so I checked out their website and they had gift certificates with no expiration dates, black out dates or hidden fees. HA flies out of the NYC area airports so the flights are cheaper (like #1 suggested) and are non-stop so there is no running around terminals or getting stuck (which would make my mom FREAK OUT!!)
