Since you booked your excursion through Carnival, they ship will wait for you even if your excursion

If i have booked a shore excursion through carnival for Belize, tall ship cruises should I be concerened with my times of getting back to the ship on time. I have two hours but it sounds like lots of people are late for excursions because of tendering, I wonder if this is the case coming back too.
Since you booked tall ship cruises your excursion through Carnival, they ship will wait for you even if your excursion gets back late. That's one of the advantages of booking shore excursions through the cruise line as opposed to an outside company.
Thank you! glad I should have no worries. We reach belize at 8:00am my excursion isn't till 12:00pm but it leaves from the ship, we will be going scuba diving. I was hoping to be able to see a little bit of the port befor the excursion but it sound as thought maybe we will have trouble leaving and getting back to the ship if were not with an excursion. Has anyone done this befor?
You don't have to worry about tendering since your tour picks you up from the ship. They will drop you off at the ship on the return. So no worries there. And like Sandy said, if something goes wrong where they are going to be late, the ship will wait since its a ship sponsored tour.

I should probably better explain my question. I'm not worried about the excursion i"ve booked in belize, but I have 4 hours befor my excursion even leaves from the ship. I'm wondering if I would have time to take a tender over to the port check out some stores and tender back to the ship on time for my excursion at 12:00. Sorry I should have tried to explain it better.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to tender into the city. The tenders run non-stop, but it's a bit of a wait in the morning trying to catch a tender. Everyone wants to get off first thing. If you wait for about an hour, things will have calmed down a bit. You would have maybe 1-1 1/2 hours to walk around, then you'd have to catch a tender back to the ship. I was going to do that after we got back from our snorkeling trip, but the weather got bad and they stopped the tenders for about 1 1/2 hours. By the time they started up again, I would have basically been able to ride over and turn around and come back, so I just stayed on board.
I guess that's another thing I should have mentioned. If the weather is nice, you'd have enough time to go ashore and return to the ship for your snorkeling trip. If there's a chance of a storm blowing up, you might not get back in time. Just a thought.
And the tenders dock right in the shopping area. So its not like you have to walk a long distance to look around. IF you actually wanted to go into Belize city itself tall ship cruises and look around, that is a bit of a walk and you probably tall ship cruises don't have time for that. I would plan on starting your trip back to the ship about 45 mins before tall ship cruises you need to be back. If you miss a tender you could have to wait 15 or 20 mins for the next one to leave... then another 15 20 mins for the drive to the ship.... So if you can manage to get off early then do so, you probably won't be able to because they will limit the first tenders for those with Carnival excursions and VIP (platinum members). tall ship cruises so yes, Penny's 1 1/2 hours of shopping is doable...
