Hi Everyone, Well , we are home and although we survived the journey with no accidents the visit was not empty of mishaps san diego hotels downtown - have you ever stayed in a Travel Lodge ? No, neither had I and I hope never to visit one again if it was like the one we had been booked into and stayed 2 nights, it was supposed to have been 3 nights, san diego hotels downtown but we all had had enough by the time we had spent 2 nights there. I had been led to believe that they are OK with quite a moderate standard of accomodation - hehe, I suppose it depends what you are used to (and how lucky you are) ! I got the impression that the hotel was in the process of being closed down, for instance the Bathroom had big notices stuck to the old tiling warning people not to touch the towel rail as it was very hot ! no towel rail was there (or perhaps it was invisible) . There was a smell of damp pervading the whole place , but when you opened san diego hotels downtown the windows wee flies would get in. We were supplied with sugars of all types and one tea bag and no coffee. There were a lot of things wrong but I don't intend listing them and moaning any more here, everywhere just looked so dull and dreary san diego hotels downtown and this was not a cheap bed for the night by any means - they charged 50 a night for your bed and accomodation, it reminded me of the set of Fawlty Towers.... It was such a shame as the visit, apart from the hotel went off really well and we had a few laughs and enjoyed ourselves so it was unfortunate that we cut the visit short. The wedding reception was held in a place called Kelham Hall, in Kelham near Newark and it is an amazing place, it has been used as the County Buildings and it has an incredible inside to it - the architecture of the building san diego hotels downtown itself is really outstanding. It's lovely to go and visit other places but I must say that I am soooo glad to get home. Cheers, Kate xxx.
50 each or for the room??? Premier Inns are a better bet if you need cheap reasonable accom....approx 60 a night per room and always, or at least in my quite extensive experience (don't ask) clean, tidy and with everything there that should be. Ok, not the Dorchester but hey.... ;o)
judy, Thanks for the welcome back, gemmak - my sis-in-law booked the hotel she was supposed to be booking a Premier Inn a mile of so from Newark, we ended up in the Travel Lodge about 9 miles away, It was like a room in Fawlty Towers, Damp smell, grass outside the window was waist high and whenever the window was opened all the tiny wee flies got in, there were notices in the bathroom saying to be careful of the towel rails as they were very hot ! eh? no towel rails were there but you could see where they had been! we had a large and a small towel each but my sis-inlaw had 2 large ones between them. Bathroom was not cleaned properly, we had a tray of tea things well we had 4 different types of sugar and a kettle - good job we had taken tea bags - no coffee sachets!! I could go on! But heyho! it was an experience.. The cost of the room was 50.. each night - but we gave up after 2should have been there for 3.. Because we had paid the full price for each room we were allowed to get our money back for the 3rd night. Wow! Honestly there is more but we will just put it down to experience... hehehe...
Kate - I would agree with gemmak that Premier san diego hotels downtown Inn is marginally better. Novotel not bad either. Ours was supposed to be 30 per person B&B but not much good if they've fucked up the booking. We had to spend 70 per person DB&B with Hilton which I suppose wasn't too bad. Talking about Fawlty Towers - our room looked at the flat roof of the foyer and some very suspect wiring - OK for a one night saviour but I'd have been fed up if it was for a week's san diego hotels downtown hols!! belleek
OH YIKES!....but at least you got a memory....and it will turn out to be a funny memory.....LOL.... Did your sister in law find it on the internet....they do fool us with pictures that aren't at all real....one time my daughter made reservations at a bed and breakfast in Virginia....we were on our way to Williamburg....on san diego hotels downtown line it looked so cool....and when we got their, yikes the air conditioner was taped in the window with duck tape....the bathroom was an old claw tub with the curtain on a rod going around the tub....it was a college town, so I imagine san diego hotels downtown it was quite chic to a student....but what a memory san diego hotels downtown we got out of that visit....life would be boring if we always ended up in perfect hotels....but sometimes it is nice..... judy

A weary mother returned from the store, Lugging groceries through the kitchen door.Awaiting her arrival was her 8 year old son, Anxious to relate what his younger brother had done. While I was out playing and Dad was on a call, T.J. took his crayons san diego hotels downtown and wrote on the wall It's on the new paper you just hung in the den. I told him you'd be mad at having to do it again. She let out a moan and furrowed her brow.Where is your little brother right now? She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride, She marched to his closet where he had gone to hide. She called his full name as she entered his room. He trembled with fear--he knew that meant doom For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved about the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved. Lamenting all the work it would take to repair, She condemned his actions and total lack of care. The more she scolded, the madder she got, then stomped from his room, totally distraught She headed for the den to confirm her fears. When she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears. The message she read pierced her soul with a dart. It said, I love Mommy, surrounded by a heart. Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it - With an empty picture frame hung to surround san diego hotels downtown it. I was sitting on a bench while in a nearby Mall, when I noticed san diego hotels downtown a young mother with two children who were small - the youngest one was whining "Pick me up," I heard him beg. But the mother's face grew angry as the child clung to her leg. "Don't hang on me" she shouted as she pushed his hands away, I wish I'd had the courage to go up to her and say..." "The time will come too quickly when those little arms that tug, won't ask you to hold them or won't freely give a hug". The day will sneak up subtly, just as it did with me, when you can't recall the last time that your child sat upon your knee". Like those sacred pre-dawn feedings when we cherished time alone. "So when your child comes to you with a book that you can share, or asks that you would tuck him in and help him say his prayer... when he comes to sit and chat or would like to take a walk, before you answer that you can't 'cause there's no time to talk." Remember that years go by too quickly and that childhood doesn't wait." Take every opportunity, if one should slip away reach hard to get it back again, don't wait another day." I watched that mother walk away, her child followed near, I hope she'll pick him up before her chances disappear. Kathie Phillips Davis ... ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ Faith ... He noticed san diego hotels downtown an eleven year-old girl sitting quietly san diego hotels downtown in the front row. Her face was beaming with excitement. Next to her, poised and ready for use, was a bright red umbrella. The little girl's san diego hotels downtown beauty and innocence made the pastor smile as he realized how much faith she possessed. No one else in the congregation had brought an umbrella. All came to pray for rain, but the little girl had come expecting God to answer... Thanks Jo xxx. ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
