Do512 was honored to be the Official Gnome Guide for the Travelocity Roaming Gnome when he wandered into Austin earlier this month.  We wanted to make sure our globe-trotting friend had the best possible time on his visit, so our goal was to  experience everything that Austin has to offer in just a few short days .  We re not going to lie, spending a few days running around town with the Roaming Gnome was one of the best experiences we ve ever had in Austin.
We set out to have an Epic Austin Adventure, and that s exactly what we did. We traveled far and wide in search of the best BBQ and tacos, met some very interesting people, learned how to stand up paddle board, got a tattoo, helped vacation rentals paris keep it weird, and enjoyed the many great sights and sounds that Austin has to offer. Judging by the Roaming Gnome s recap (see The Gnome Guide to Rambling Austin ) he had an awesome time as well. As far as we can recall we hit up a total of nearly 70 destinations on this record-setting ramble. The itinerary looked something like this:
Honestly, we made too many memories with the Travelocity Gnome to put them all here. Needless to say, it was a sad day when we had to watch him go. His chipper attitude, unrelenting cheer, and roaming nature will not be soon forgotten. We wish he could have stayed vacation rentals paris with us forever, but alas, his home is on the road. So it was with great sorrow, but also understanding, that we watched him board that airplane. Call it naivety, or just plain hope, but we think he ll be back again someday.
