I was very excited to read your headline and then I read the article. Why does it take until 2013 to
California State Parks Superintendent Sean Woods with two rangers at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. This week, the department will unveil plans for an $18 million project that will create numerous new facilities and attractions. Photo by Gary Leonard.
I am a regular weekly user of this park and I think it's a huge mistake to develop this any more and throw more money at it. The park is beautiful as it is, there is no need to add a $55 million development on top of it. There are many other neighborhoods in LA where there are no green spaces and many more people who could use a nearby park. This park, as great as it is, is really not convenient for many people. Where is the money coming from for this project? Is this just a big contract where some one is getting rich off of it? What we should invest in is simple, easy to maintain spaces and parks in areas which are lacking convenient green space, and more of them, rather than this.
I was very excited to read your headline and then I read the article. best deals in hawaii for rental cars Why does it take until 2013 to START construction? Another L.A. joke!High speed rail is a politicians' dream pork barrel project that does nothing t o really help the local transportation problems best deals in hawaii for rental cars in L.A. and will have to be subsidized. We should concentrate on local transportation, best deals in hawaii for rental cars high density, parks and a great education best deals in hawaii for rental cars system in Los Angeles. If there are no local improvements, the middle and upper class will continue to move to West Los Angeles or the suburbs.
Its one thing for cut-and-cover rail planned for a part of the park thats just turf, but what if the route needs to go through one of the structure? Then isn't building the park now a huge waste of money? They should really be coordinating with CAHSR before they break ground.
I get a stomach ace when reading this.Closing the eyes on reality for the high speed rail is one think. Welcome pavilion, vendors from farmers market, wetland, archeological sites another. Can we please keep it simple and don’t make a Disneyland out of it?I hope Sean Woods vision doesn’t materialize. Input from culturally educated departments and LA-conservancy should be sought. Otherwise we would have another best deals in hawaii for rental cars fiasco like the Griffith Park observatory extension – where obviously the wrong people had their say.
Stop stop STOP !! This is hubris! Do not spend one penny on installing anything where the cut and cover MAY need to go. How on earth can this be considered a wise expenditure of public best deals in hawaii for rental cars funds?“We will also work with state park officials and others to stop the high speed rail from digging there. What is the alternative, digging through houses or businesses? The brief disruption of cut and cover can be mitigated and -- in a few years -- the park will be bigger and better.Good Lord, I hope Jerry Brown has the good sense to order that the much-needed park be built alongside the operation to bury the train lines, if that's where they need to go.What best deals in hawaii for rental cars is wrong with these people???
