Hey folks, I am finding that renting a car for our Ireland trip is more stressful than airline tickets and housing combined. I was looking at Hertz.ie and their quote for a Nissan Qashqai (or similar) was 511 Euros (before CDW, et al). At Hertz.com , the same car was 334 Euros. This is a significant amount. I guess my question is this: is this safe to use Hertz.com to rent in Ireland? I would just hate to get there and find out something wasn't hotel monaco seattle right and I had to waste precious vacation hotel monaco seattle time setting up a new car hire.

But Dan Dooley's website hotel monaco seattle specifically said they only accept World MasterCard for CDW. Has anyone had experience with this? It just seems odd that a company offers in writing, that htey will cover CDW and Dooley still won't accept it.
It depends on the Underwriters of the card,, not all cards are universally accepted by Irish companies one company accepts one card another company accepts another card nothing to do with the card issuer its who insures that card..
Be aware there will be a charge for the paperwork involved linking that insurance to the rental car. There will also be a "Hold" put on the card against possible damage and if you do damage the car the rental company will take that from the Hold and you are on your own to claim off your card's insurer.
There may also be other charges for location/collection point. Check the fuel policy and remember to take the letter from your card giving cover which must be dated within 28days of the End (not beginning) of your hire period. This is Your insurance policy and you will not be given the keys without it.
