It was a good day for U2 at the office on Monday, as tickets for their upcoming tour, called “iNNOCENCE discount hotels atlanta + eXPERIENCE,” sold out in multiple venues around the world, prompting the band to add additional shows.
"The sales for the iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour have been brilliant and we are working to satisfy the incredible demand,” Arthur Fogel, a top executive for the promotion company Live Nation said in a statement.
The tour, which will play 19 cities in the U.S., Canada and Europe, was designed to include back to back shows in each city it plays. “We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two,” said Bono in a statement on Monday, “and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience. More to be revealed!”
The band scheduled four shows in Madison Square Garden in New York on July 18 and 19, and the 22nd and 23rd. On Tuesday two extra dates were added on July 26 and 27. A similar scenario unfolded in Boston and Chicago and global cities like London.
