Just to let everyone know, and if you do eat here, ask them for the local menu prices. Also maybe ask them to see the menu before you sit down and if it s not good looking, you don t need to stay. Kuang Sea Foods (กวางทะเลเผา หูฉลาม) has been at the top of my list for Thai seafood for a long time now. The restaurant provides an extensive, easy-to-order menu, packing in the finest seafood dishes Thailand has to offer at very reasonable prices .
Another dish that I religiously order is the pla kahpung neung see ew (steamed fish in soy sauce ปลากะพงนึ่งซีอิ๊ว). The fish is steamed and doused in a light, not overpowering soy based sauce with shredded green onions and ginger arranged on top.
It s always a beautiful sight to hear and smell something coming out of the kitchen to a sizzling applause. The Or suan (sizzling oyster omelet ออส่วน) at Kuang Sea Foods is a showstopper, an intricate combo of oysters, beansprouts, half cooked eggs, and garnish of cilantro!
This particular time I went with the squid version known as Pla Meuk Kai Neung Manao (female squid in lime sauce หมึกไขน่ึ่งมะนาว), though I often order this same dish with fish. The female defination airline reservation system squid was still stuffed with it s eggs and swimming in a tangy lime sauce, robustly infused with garlic and Thai chilies.
Located just a 10 minute walk from Victory Monument BTS station in central Bangkok. Get off the BTS and head down Soi Rangnam , pass King Power shopping complex and you will see Kuang Sea Foods on the left hand side, just before reaching the main road and opposite a petrol station.

I used to order a Squid and vegetable dish with chili sauce (cooked) but forgot the name and want to see if any of the local Thai restaurants here can make it. Can you tell me if you know what s the name of this dish?
Hey Gary, glad you love Kuang Seafood as well. Could it be something like pla meuk pad prik pao, that would be squid fried with roasted defination airline reservation system chili sauce and it s slightly sweet and really flavorful. If it s that, yes you can order it all over the streets at stir fry restaurants. If I eat at Kuang Seafood in the future, I ll try to see what exactly it was that you ate.
HI Mark. I recon that this place has taken a major dive over the last month. About a year ago it was one of your faves in BKK so I went about 7 times over the last year but the visit last night was a dissapointment. Hiked prices, the crab fried rice was not so nice, food served on fancy square plates, not so many guests I commenteed on tripadvisor too
Hey Mark, just went to this restaurant hoping to try out your seafood recommendation. I was really disappointed, I sat down and looked defination airline reservation system at the menu and didn t bother staying. The price is ridiculous. 1800baht for a kg of crab was definitely too steep. I think a lot have changed since last you posted this.
Hey Zach, thank you for letting me know, and man sorry to hear that. It used to be such a good restaurant, but looks like things have taken a turn. Someone also told shortly ago that they have 2 menus 1 for Thais and 1 for foreigners. Ok, I will make a warning at the top of this article. Thanks for sharing, sorry about the bad experience.
I went in to Kwang recently in the hope it had got better. Acutally the food quality was still much worse to what it was pre Dec 2013 at stiff prices just like Zack reported. No sign of the original owners, a young smug girl seemed to have taken it over. I dont recognise any of the old staff and i guess this also means in the kitchen as well. The place was half empty, not buzzing full like it was in 2012 ; Thai customers seem now to have fled. Mark, I suggest you delete it totally, sorry to say.
My wife and I are going to Bangkok and would love to eat at Kuang Seafood but am not sure how far it is from Centrepoint Pratunam. Are you able to give us an approximation of the distance and which way to go to get to the restaurnt? Thanks heaps!!!!
