I got a good price on my car (wholesale), good warranty, financing, good service, and what seems to be a good car. i did have a mechanic look it over, too. I'm happy with my purchase, so far.
Added comment.... the poor gas mileage was not due to air filter, which SHOULD HAVE been replaced at 30K. I replaced it ... old was filthy... after 400 mile trip, no change in mpg. I know the Altimas get 38 mpg. This one from Hertz only gets 33.4, with slightly overinflated tires. After further inspection, it is clear to me that HERTZ does not take that good of care of their rental vehicles, compared to others, notably Enterprise. The Altima I initially rented from them was so much cleaner. Oh well, maybe next time.
I agree ABSOLUTELY with last commenter...I WILL NEVER BUY (OR RENT) FROM HERTZ EVER AGAIN. Rented a Nissan tour packages england Altima from Enterprise; loved the car and 38 mpg. Even though Enterprise offered to bring one of their cars for sale to me, I found another through Hertz that was a few hundred $ less. Purchasing that car turned into a nightmare. Finance agent lied through his teeth, then later claimed I was at fault (after he lied again). The Hertz car sales has no clue what their rental division is doing...and visa versa, though you are REQUIRED to rent the car before you can buy. All in all... a very bad experience. BTW... this Altima only gets 34 mpg. Hertz essentially told me "sorry for your luck"... "maybe it is a dirty air filter."
