The Vatican tour was conducted by Dara. He was EXCELLENT! Smart, very knowledgeable, quite funny! From Dublin, his accent was barely noticeable. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking this tour if Dara was leading the tour. Saw the museums including the Rafael best price on airline tickets rooms Sistine Chapel he let us go outside St. Peter's Basilica (the tour did NOT include St. Peters). A lot of walking involved it was tough with a baby stroller older mother. If you have a stroller or someone who has difficulty getting around-- this will be tough because there are A LOT of stairs! Dara is very good, however, at trying to give everyone a rest whenever he can. I'd give Dara's tour 5 stars (out of 5)!
The Ancient Rome tour is another story! Angelo was our tour guide he was terrible. English is not his native tongue while he can be easily understood, his English vocabulary seems to be rather limited. He went on on on on about the smallest of points spent little time really educating us on the Colosseum, etc. I would NOT recommend going on the tour if Angelo is the guide. While he was a nice guy-- he did not improve my knowledge of ancient Rome. Just terrible... best price on airline tickets I'd give Angelo's tour 1 star (out of 5).
Overall, Dark Rome is a good tour company... but your experience will vary greatly based upon the tour guide... so, pick carefully! Tip: If there are a lot of people waiting for the tour, it's likely they will have multiple tour guides. Try to find the tour guides ask their name-- then, based upon the write ups on various guides, go to check in try to get on the tour with the guide you prefer.
