I m planning a trip and need to rent a car. I plan on using my credit card to pay for the rental, as well as use it for the collision/damage coverage my credit card company offers to waive the extra insurance fees from the car rental company. I m primarily insured under my parents insurance but because I M renting the car, I won t be able to use their insurance. My question is, does the car rental company still require you to use their insurance policy or can I just get away with the coverage I get from my credit card company and be able to skip the extra fee?

Thanks in advance. The rental agency should accept the coverage from the credit card company, but you may need to purchase liability coverage. You ll have to ask them, it s their car and they will have the answers. We can only guess.
your not walking out the door of any rental atgence without full coverage on the rental car Its either your full coverage insurance or thiers but these rental agencies have been burned to many times. So put full coverage on your car do what you have to do and drop it later but its going to cost you either way.
I work for Hertz, and absolutly not, u do not have to accept ANY coverage. But by doing so, youre assuming full responsibility of the vehicle. Even if for some reason your credit card decides not to cover it. We work closely with the other rental companies, and as far as I know, they work the exact same way, although I cant vouch for that.
