The first leg of a 3-week trip to warmer climes took us to St. Pete's Beach , one of a series of towns along the barrier islands running west of Tampa Bay. For reasons we can't recall that probably related to price, we scheduled a flight leaving Seattle at 6:00 a.m. That clearly meant a stay near the airport the night before, but still, we didn't want a 3:45 wake-up call to haunt us for our first several Florida days. To adjust slowly during the week before leaving, we moved up our alarm by a half-hour each day. (We stopped at 5:00.) Sounded good; worked poorly. money exchange business travel We'd forgotten both how many things we d had to finish before money exchange business travel leaving town and how relaxed our agenda was for Florida. money exchange business travel Rather than being tired and cranky the week before we left, we should have stuck with our normal schedule and then sucked it in, endured the long day and adjusted slowly in the east. Of course, the primary culprit was the plane departure time; we'll be more picky next time.
After our neighbor, Bill, took us into town, we easily made our way to downtown Seattle via bus and ferry (for a total cost of $7). On the bus, we met a woman who had been in Port Townsend for much of the summer, after having taught poetry at a Centrum conference. Once in the city, we walked her along the best route to the light rail station for her ride on to SeaTac airport. From there, we walked north further money exchange business travel than we'd hoped, looking for a place to eat. Fortunately, a guy parking cars for an above-our-budget place sent us a block further to Rock Bottom , a micro-brewery with great food and reasonable prices. From there, we had a short walk to the light rail for our own trip to SeaTac, where we could get a shuttle to Sleep Inn , our regular spot to spend the night near the airport.
Perhaps the effort to shift our bodies earlier paid off some after all. We felt less groggy (How's that for a standard?) boarding a plane at about 5:30. Given our departure time, we were surprised that United didn't even offer the option of a purchased breakfast. Good thing we'd grabbed one at Sleep Inn.  We arrived in Houston around noon with the good fortune of having our departing flight leaving from the adjoining gate.  That gave us just enough time to buy a lunch we finished on the plane to Tampa. Again, despite a mealtime departure, United provided money exchange business travel no food options.
