If you are only there for a day I would suggest an excursion to the Mayan Temples. The Zip line is not all it is cracked up to be as it is over in a short time, but if you are there for a couple of days then you can fit it in. Same as rapelling, you spend a lot of time getting kitted out and miss a lot.
Don t forget that the crew on the ship, will have lots of knowledge and contacts with local travel guides in Belize and can recommend the best, as they will know how long you have ashore and the details for returning to the ship.

I have taken several shore excursions. Xunantunich is the best Mayan ruins. From the top you can look over Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. However you only have enough time to do this excursion if you are there a long time. If you have to be back at 330, you won t have time to do this one. Cave-tubing.com is where I booked my cave tubing excursion. It was amazing. Afterwards we stopped at a small place to get some food. It was sooo good. Zip lining is also a very nice excursion not sure what company you are looking at but read over the reviews. If you aren t getting up there above the tree line or it is a very short zip line, it s not very enjoyable.
You only have enough time to do one shore excursion so pick the one that sounds the best to you and the one that you cannot do at another island. Horseback riding may be a very fun one but if you can do it at any island you stop at, don t waste your time in Belize doing it.
Check out reviews of any company beforehand. Some people just get off the boat and pick one of the signholders out there. That is very dangerous and how you end up in bad situations. Read the reviews on cruise critic on your ship. People often review their shore excursions as well. Look up the company and read reviews. I don t know where else you will go. Honduras offers a great zip lining tour as well. No place else offers cave-tubing.com or Xunantunich.
