Adrian Gill, chief executive at RBS International, said on Wednesday that the job losses were due to a 'strategic review' to make the company 'a smaller, simpler and smarter bank that puts the needs of its customers at its core'.
A NUMBER of abuse victims have been put off giving evidence to the Independent Jersey pan american airlines home page Care Inquiry after the Island’s self-styled ‘citizen media’ were stripped of journalistic rights at the inquiry, one of the banned bloggers has claimed.
Unfortunately this is only part of the story. The Jersey finance pan american airlines home page industry has now been contracting for a number of years now and RBS is no different. First went the zero hours contract staff; no fuss, no headlines. Then it will have gone the staff departing due to retirement, sickness or other personal reasons; natural wastage, no fuss, no headlines, Now we are into the hard core of staff who really would like to keep their job; that is different.
The spiel about RBS International wishing to be a smarter bank that puts the needs of its customers at its core , is great for all its Jersey pan american airlines home page customers pan american airlines home page but does not sit well with Jersey acting as a conduit for funds destined for the City of London. I suspect that this RBS strategic review may be the precursor for a more fundamental shift within the Jersey finance industry.
A Strategic Review is occurring because of the uncertainty brought about by Sam Mezec s Reform Party. When there was just one Monty Tadier doing everything to destroy employment in the island by decrying the finance industry and wanting it to be stopped in the island - now we have Geoff Southern, Nick Le Cornu, Sammy Mezec, and Moty Tadier all now in the Reform Party with one object - to make Jersey look bad in the eye of others (without substance), whether it is destroying the finance industry or making up silly stories to UK visiting Ministers (see other story of what Sam MEzec has been up to). Geoff Southern of all people, being in the Reform Party - does he support the destruction of the finance industry by his party colleague Montford Tadier - do we really believe they have turned a new leaf and support the finance indsutry?
