My mom flew in on Friday. We drove straight from the airport down to Washington, VA to visit The Inn at Little Washington. My mom has had a gift certificate to stay at the Inn for 3 years now, and we finally put it to good use! I was so happy she chose me to be her travel buddy
as soon as we finished our cocktail, we were offered to have afternoon tea. Yes please! They brought us out a tea menu with about 20 different kinds of tea..it was hard to choose blue collar comedy tour 2 but I went with a black apple spice tea
the star of the afternoon tea was all of the fresh tea pastries they brought out for us. Mini scones (fresh out of the oven..they were still warm!), blue collar comedy tour 2 c oconut macaroons, almond butter cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, apricot tarts, ham and chive biscuit sandwiches, and salmon and cucumber tea sandwiches.
blue collar comedy tour 2 before the meal even started, they brought us a special tasting tray. A grape tomato stuffed with goat cheese and fried, a marinated fig stuffed blue collar comedy tour 2 with blue cheese and wrapped in Virginia ham, and their take on chips and dip : a potato wrapped in a dip mixture with caviar and chives. OMG. The chips and dip..i could of eaten 500 of them.
we were also brought a mini shot glass filled with white bean soup and a little cheese pastry on the side . The soup was so creamy and the pastry was light and flaky and filled with an insane amount of flavor. BAHHHH.
my mom and I chose the 3 course meal option as opposed to the 9 course tasting menu..9 courses seemed a litttle overwhelming. My mom and I each got different items for each course so we could try as much as possible.
blue collar comedy tour 2 my first course was: Spicy Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna Tartare with Cucumber Sorbet . The tuna was extremely fresh and kind of spicy with the cool cucumber sorbet. I m salivating thinking blue collar comedy tour 2 about how delicious it was.
my third course: A Chop of Organic Milk-Fed Pork with Sauerkraut Braised in Virginia Riesling, Gala Apples, and la Ratte Potato Puree. OMGGGGG. the pork was perfectly cooked, paired with the sauerkraut, caramelized apples, pieces of fried pork fat, and the creamiest mashed potatoes I ve ever tasted in my whole life.
and last but not least..dessert. We were both SO FULL by the time dessert came around..but i managed to make room somehow I ordered the butter pecan ice cream sandwich with caramel sauce. The waiter blue collar comedy tour 2 brought over an entire pot of homemade caramel!! and drizzled it all over the ice cream sandwich. It was like watching magic happen before my eyes.
after dinner we asked if we could get a tour of the kitchen. The kitchen is everything you would expect it to be. Completely immaculate, filled with every possible kitchen gadget you could ever want. The head chef was telling us the kitchen runs for 24 hours. He has a separate overnight crew that comes in to bake all of the fresh pastries for the morning. Insane!!
this was the quartet blue collar comedy tour 2 of freshly blue collar comedy tour 2 pressed juices both my mom and I were brought. I don t even remember what all of them were but they were each delicious..very fresh and interesting flavor combinations
for my meal I got a egg white omelet with cheese, tomatoes, and spinach . I couldn t even finish it because I was too full but it was everything you would want it to be..fresh and delicious! The homemade chicken apple sausage was to die for.
