A s some of you may know, THIS Saturday we are picking Valencia oranges on a huge, lush estate in Montecit o (near Oprah’s estate) from 9AM-3PM, with a light lunch provided by the Food Forward crew in the middle of the day.
We’ve had a decent turn-out so far, but could still use at least another 30 volunteers! T he drive to Montecito from Sherman Oaks is a short 75 minutes along PCH, so if you’re interested in meeting at a central location in the Valley and carpooling with someone, please e-mail marie@foodforward.org . Volunteer participation is crucial to the success of our organization. When volunteers do not show up, not only does it prevent somebody who wants to volunteer from doing so, it ultimately diminishes the amount of fruit that is harvested for the hungry.
