We were up early today to say goodbye to the good friends we made this past week. After we bid them farewell, the smaller group (staying on for the extension), boarded our bus for a tour around rental cars priceline the city of Rome for about an hour.
We saw many of the famous sites that the city of Rome houses. We stopped at the Colosseum and had an extensive and informative tour of the monolithic rental cars priceline site. We climbed to the top level to get a good look at the interior, where we could see where the underground tunnels and elevators would have been. What a magnificent tribute to Roman architecture and engineering! We then took a walk over to the Forum and enjoyed an overview of this famous and historical site.
We broke for lunch and gelato and then went on a walking rental cars priceline tour of many other sites. We strolled through the narrow cobblestone alleyways to find the Spanish Steps and admire the high-fashion shops in that area.
We eventually wandered rental cars priceline a bit further to the Pantheon and marveled at this very ancient and intact building. It is huge but beautiful, all at the same time. The sun was shining rental cars priceline through the opening at the top of the roof and a very tiny new moon could be seen when we looked up through the circle. Now that is what magical moments are made of!
On we strolled to the Piazza Navona and admired the lovely fountains that honor the four main rivers of ancient times. How beautiful it is with water cascading and weaving its way to the huge lower pond. It is always a busy piazza with families enjoying time to play and people rental cars priceline enjoying a glass of wine on a warm afternoon. We had dinner at a lovely trattoria where we enjoyed Roman cuisine as the sun faded and darkness moved in.
