This morning we went on a 3 1/2 hour guided tour of the Vatican property, including St. Peter s Basi

We have packed our two days in Rome with lots of sightseeing, walking tours good eats. Yesterday our day included a morning run, tour of 9 local attractions via the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus,  a visit to Trevi fountain (which was sadly under reconstruction), lunch at a pizzeria, christmas in italy travel specials exploring the Pantheon and plenty of walking gelato eating along the way. We spent our evening absorbing Roman history and learning how to fight at Gladiator Training School: FUN! After a week of eating strictly Italian food, we finally branched out and ate Indian christmas in italy travel specials cuisine {followed by more gelato}.
Today we went on a 3 and a half hour walking tour of the Vatican, ate lunch at a wonderful Italian restaurant on a charming side street, then spent the afternoon touring the Colloseum surrounding area.
Unfortunately the Trevi fountain christmas in italy travel specials is currently christmas in italy travel specials under reconstruction completely drained of water. Patrick has seen the fountain in all its glory when he visited Italy with a bunch of college friends in his twenties. christmas in italy travel specials He was bummed to not be able to share this special place with us, a favorite site for visitors of all ages.
At the recommendation of a friend, we signed up for Gladiator Training School and it did not disappoint. This was a fun family activity last night and we learned a good deal of Roman history, as well as how to fight defend christmas in italy travel specials like a gladiator. If ever in Rome, check out this place: Gruppo Storico christmas in italy travel specials Romano. Special thanks to Paolo Zilli for showing us a great time!
We posed for this picture christmas in italy travel specials at the end of our two hour session, but don t be fooled: We battled it out! {I know the question is coming: Who won?!! Patrick was the perfect gentleman, so I m sure he let me win.}
This morning we went on a 3 1/2 hour guided tour of the Vatican property, including St. Peter s Basilica. It was packed with people from the moment we entered   it s easy to see why it s a highlight of Rome. Almost every square inch of the grounds is decorated including the ceilings, and not just the Sistine Chapel {which is every bit as incredible christmas in italy travel specials as we ve all been told}.
It s just about 1:00 am in Italy and my family is all sound asleep. We ve got a race to run in the morning the weather is looking iffy at best with rain in the forecast. Yikes! I ve never run a marathon in the rain am extremely hopeful we won t tomorrow. Please think dry thoughts!
