Edinburgh Airport's owners, Global Infrastructure Partners, announced six new routes with Ryanair to Bologna and Cagliari in Italy, France's Beziers, Corfu in Greece, Poland's Katowice and Santander in Spain.
He said: "Ryanair is delighted to announce its Scottish summer 2013 schedule, which will deliver over three million passengers discount airlines per annum and sustain over 3000 jobs at Edinburgh and Glasgow Prestwick Airports."
Mr O'Leary added: "To celebrate our new Edinburgh and Glasgow Prestwick routes, we are launching a 100,000 seat sale with fares starting discount airlines from £18 for travel across Europe in January, which are available for booking until midnight discount airlines Thursday, discount airlines December 6."
Gordon Dewar, Edinburgh Airport, added: "I welcome Ryanair's return discount airlines to growth and investment at Edinburgh Airport.
