Home to major theme parks like Disney s ( DIS ) Walt Disney World, SeaWorld ( SEAS ), Comcast s ( CMCSA ) Universal Orlando and even LEGOLAND, city leaders in Orlando have built 300 electric vehicle compare car rentals florida charging stations compare car rentals florida across the city and surrounding suburbs over the past several years. More charging stations will be added by hotels under the Drive Electric Orlando initiative, which launched on Thursday, Reuters noted.
Japanese auto giant Nissan ( NSANY ) has committed to provide 30 quick-charging stations to help with the program. The city has also partnered with Enterprise Rent-A Car, which will offer 15 Nissan Leaf electric vehicles for tourists to rent.
Visitors who opt to rent electric vehicles for rates as low as $30 a day will also get extra services like GPS service, free overnight charging at hotels and valet service. In addition to tourists, the initiative could be a hit with business travelers, 10 million of which flock to the city s convention centers each year.
