If you're going from their major hubs or traveling relatively short distances you can get flights starting from $4 a way.
I'm pretty sure the $9 fare specials generally come as a result of severely under-booked flights, so you'll often find yourself on a flight that is not full. If you're near the back, you can often get a whole row to yourself once the plane is at cruising altitude. You may occasionally get lucky and find yourself in a seat in row 4 on certain planes, directly behind the Big Front Seat section; I believe the interiors were constructed to accommodate opryland hotel nashville tn a larger first-class section, so you end up with a normal, 3-seat row, but the leg room is unbelievable!

Not recommended. By the time they get done dicking you around with the fees, and the cost of risk of: missed flights, late flights, diverted flights, death in a crash etc. you're better off just flying Southwest.
