As part of planning our road trip from Madrid to Lisbon we had to find hotel in Lisbon and that hotel the shined through our searches was Holiday Inn Express Lisbon Av. Liberdade.   The price was average and location seemed alaska airlines reservations to be close to where our friend (Rolanda) was living so we booked it.
So the hotel is located near one of the main streets in Lisbon and also about 20 min walk from downtown Lisbon (it s a nice walk). When we arrive at the lobby, we were impressed by the lobby s design (which is beautiful).
The room has decent size (bigger than many other rooms in centre Europe). There s no bath, only shower and the hotel doesn t provide anything else besides one soap (no shampoo, creams and etc). Moreover I was asking for extra towel and never got that, even though I called twice to reception.
So far so good, right? This could be great review about the hotel, however our biggest disappointment was with breakfast that besides a big variety of breads was very poor- basics only and maybe less.Also the food area is so small comparing to the size of the sitting area so you get long queue of people. They charge 10euros for it which you can eat big meal outside of the hotel for this amount of me. Save your money and skip it
Bottom line, the hotel is OK and if you are looking for a place to stay in Lisbon you should give it a try. Since Lisbon is so beautiful you won t be spending so much time at the hotel so after setting your expectations regarding breakfast and some other small things that I ve mentioned above, it will be worth the money you spent on it.
